I have about 1 mm left in the front...

I like it when they bite and don't cost me an arm and a leg.

Not so much into cheapbay either.

Thanx!!!

If you like initial bite and good progressive feel then Vesrah. Double the price of EBC but not something I'd personally skimp on. Plus you're in the track a fair amount yes?

Venomous is right: EBC HH Sintered. I've run 'em in A group at the track and they are fade-free (ok, I'm still 10 seconds/lap off any track records), are 'analog' enough to control late-braking all the way down to your knee, are great on the street (even in the rain and freezing temps), have little dust/noise and give tons of feedback.

Maybe....maybe there's a better pad out there, but I haven't found a deficiency with EBC HH yet.

EDIT: 1098S pads are identical to 1199 ones. Don't get ripped off. The dealer I originally went to wanted $177/set (ya need two). EBCs are about $70 for both pairs.

Here's my 'how-to': http://ducati1199.com/guides/2357-how-change-1199-brake-pads.html

Same here.

Was looking at 195 $CAN for each leg and went with SBS at 65 $ for both.

Feel is about the same as stock and wear is supposed to be improved.

was about time

So how many miles to get to that point? I've still only got just under 4,000 miles and haven't even inspected the pads yet.

9700. including 5 track days and some serious mountain cruising.

i bet with "normal" street riding they make it until 15k

HH pads give good initial bite. I, personally, love the progressive feel of the OE pads, so I'll be using them!

I posted this over here:

http://ducati1299.com/ducati-1199/13444-let-s-about-brake-pads.html#post260484

I have ran multiple sets of pads, EBC HH, Galfer, Carbone Lorraine (Now CL Braking), Braking, Brembo, Vesrah, Ferodo, and a couple more.

- Galfer, stay away. Not a good initial bite, faded with heat, dust, rotor wear.

- EBC HH. Decent initial bite, lots of dust, seemed very linear on braking, decent feedback, low rotor wear.

- CL Braking SBK5/XBK5 - Good pads, great life, good feedback, decent initial bite, low on dust, didn't notice rotor wear.

- Vesrah - I have ran the RJL, SRJL pads, liked them both, but the SRJL is what I would personally choose. Great initial bite, great feedback, but can be a bit dirty, and don't cause much wear on the rotors. Never notice any fading while track riding.

- Brembo - These came with my Brembo HP brakes for the R1, good pads, but I swapped them out fairly quickly as I went with a set of BrakeTech CMC rotors, which I used Ferodo XRAC pads. They felt good, not as good as the Vesrah SRJL/RJL pads, and I didn't get to ride them on the track. So I can't comment much about fading.

- Ferodo - XRAC pads, been running these with the BrakeTech CMC rotors, and I have zero wear on the rotors, and third set of pads over 18k+ miles, 20+ track days. Great initial bite, very linear feel, great feedback, decent level on the dust.

If I was personally looking for a new set of pads with standard rotors, I would buy Vesrah all day long, and twice on Sunday. I find that they gave me good life, low rotor wear, low level of dust output, and great feel. These especially if you occasionally track the bike.

My second choice would be the CL Braking XBK5 pads if you are primary street, and seldom track. Although they are fine on the track, their feel when hot isn't as nice as the Vesrah pads, but they are functionally good in comparison.

Brake recommendation

I suggest Vesrah SRJL or RJLXX pads...VD-9031RJL for the fronts and VD-964JL or RJL for the rear.
