Hows it going guys, just brought a brand new Panigale home, was excited as a kid on Christmas just to find out a puddle underneath the bike as I walk away from her.

Long story short after a 15 minute ride home from the dealership as soon as I shut off the bike and grab a pack of smokes I notice something leaking from underneath the engine, looks transparent with a pink hue to it. It had leaked enough to create a small river to the exit of the garage.

I call the dealer, get to speak with the sales guy to what he tells me that it happens to bikes from time to time and its normal. I am taking it back for a check up tomorrow, he told me that its engine coolant that could of been overfilled and because of engine heat up it expended and went out.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Somewhat ruined the moment for me. Looking forward to your help.

Thanks.

Wow, a salesman saying it's normal. Go figure.

Take it back tomorrow, and have them go over it.

I doubt it's anything to get nervous about. Check the overflow tubes to see if there wet.

Does sound like coolant, I wouldn't panic. Let em check it and then see if its anything to be concerned about.

Could be something as simple as tightening up a hose clamp....and do check the coolant level.

My coolant leak came from the center of the hose, not where it was clamped. My master mechanic explained that he has run into this before. Coolant hose has an internal defect allowing it to leak from the center of the hose.. Keep an eye on your hoses gentle folk..

Normal ?

"Ohhhh.....the puddle thing, thats normal"
(Why don't people talk about the "virgin bike puddle" syndrome all the time then)

I love sales people.

"Oh, the connecting rod came out the side of the block...Yeah, thats normal, its our new block venting port, its only on the 2013 models"

Jeez.

Thanks for the replies guys, hopefully its an overfill, will keep you updated as soon as I bring it back from the dealer tomorrow.

My bike started leaking small amounts of coolant while the bikes shut off & on stands.
looks like coming from middle of engine area on left side.

Its not enough to lower the coolant level though.

I wonder has anyone else had this issue & know exactly where to fix or concentrate on?

Mine leaks but not coolant. Its engine oil and despite 2 viwits at dealer the thing just leaks more. It drips on the left hand exhaust can but from where I dont know.
Anyway like others say check yr level and it should be fine. Just keep an eye on the temperature in case it continues leaking. Mine settles at 85'C in highways and well above 95C in town. Weather here is hot with 33-35C air temp

i see your from Toronto which dealer is it?
Possibly once they fix yours I can take mine right after & they will know what to do. :)

i changed the coolant about a month ago. its very clear slight blue tint very slight. so i dont know why yours would be pink.

If this is indeed coolant and the cause is the bike being overfilled then I am certain I would be asking what the set up fee is meant to cover and surely this is part of the dealers responsibility to check?????

New coolant is pink.

My Tricolore seeped coolant and collected down by the kickstand. I traced it to the coolant hoses that connect to the t-stat housing in the V. A couple of turns on the clamp screws and no more leak!

Ok guys, I have some closure, its good news, the mechanic did not seat the seal properly on the cap, hence it was leaking, luckily thats a human error and not mechanical issue, it did kill the excitement for me, on the bright sight I still get to keep a problem free beauty in my house, hopefully she will make up for it in the nearest future.

Thanks again for all the tips.
