Can anyone who has a Brembo RCS 17 or Brembo RCS 17 Corsa Corta installed on their 1299S, be so kind and take a picture of how they fitted it so it doesn't collide with the steering damper? According to Brembo these should both be direct bolt-ons but my local shop says they can't fit them due to fitment issues.

Thanks

I don’t have one but I believe it requires replacing the switches to a smaller unit to free up space on the bar for it to fit. Check out the other thread regarding the RCS 17 questions.

I attached the reservoir to the steering damper to get it to fit. I had to use the smaller reservoir from the rear brake (same size as clutch) and no issues of clearance now.

The stock switch will fit with longer clip-ons and inside the master. It’s not pretty but I haven’t been motivated enough to spend the hundreds of dollars for a switch when functionality is 100% there.

You will have to remove the stock start/kill switch, install a BSD/DB or Apex switch to free up some space. Also the RCS reservoir brackets wont work you will need a external reservoir kit like this.

Thanks for the replies guys. Mick, are those fitted from JetPrime?

I looked into it on my 1199s and 1299s, as I enjoyed the RCS levers on my previous bikes. I contacted a number of reputable shops, Ducati USA, and Brembo; along with some race shops. For whatever reason, you have to install the aftermarket cluster on the handlebars, and, to my understanding, the 17s are what goes on the 1299s due to the model of Brembo brakes installed.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Just bear in mind, Oracle462 that the larger front reservoir is so when pads wear, all 8 pistons move, causing A LOT of fluid to transfer into the calipers. The small rear brake does not need so much fluid as much smaller caliper with only 2 pistons. Be careful with this mod, in case you have great brakes Monday, but NO BRAKES on Tuesday!

I did this on my 899 so I don’t have 8 pistons to brake my face off into corners! I’ve got the rcs corsa corta and really love the adjustability!

Surely ALL Pani's use 8 (2x 4 piston calipers) pistons on the front to 'brake your face off!'. Good line, haha. IMG_20200509_103633.jpg
