You sheep fuckers should know how to plug things :D .

New Zealand, home of the Velcro gloves, gumboots and portable pictures of cliffs (so the sheep push back harder). Frosty at least if you are going to slag someone off, please have all your information correct before doing so. LOL. Love this forum for all it's political correctness that is exercised.

As for noise levels they sell them with that same muffler new in Australia, so are new exempt over import laws?? We don't seem to have that issue here in NZ, maybe it's left over sheeps wool stuck in the mufflers after a hard night shagging dampening down the DB's ???

I'm South African, I was assured by my classmates back in 1999 that the Aussies were in fact sheep fuckers as we were being robbed of the cricket World Cup :D . In fact there were even hand drawn visuals being passed around with Shane Warne's name on it. :D

LOL, well anything that has a pulse Shayne Warne would stick his .... in it!!!! We do have more sheep than people, but I am happy for our cuzzies across the ditch to have that title, they steal most of our other famous things anyway, Split Enz, Dragon, Crowded House, Pavlova, Far Lap etc etc etc. So how do you feel that NZ has the Rugby World Cup? We have always been ..... at cricket so not so fussed if we lose that one, but I will support any team playing Australia (it's a KIWI thing) LOL.
One thing that does gripe me on here is we all have something in comon on this forum, we ride one of the best production bikes on the earth ATM, so we should not take gentle banter any further than just that, to many nasty personal attacks on each other in nearly every thread I have read.

Lol.

You've heard that kiwi's can only fly west ;)

Hi on the bike frame it has it rating at 105db and you are allowed 5 above that.
I have had my bike tested with standard pipes and tested at 109db and it passed. This is in Melbourne, Australia.
What is you current rate at.

Firstly, I apologise for yet another thread on sound and trust me usually I am all about making my bike as loud as possible.

Anyhow I have recently imported an 1199 into AUS from the USA and the bike needs to pass a sound test to enable registration. To date I have had very little luck, working with an engineer to bring the sound down through modifying the stock exhaust. The bike is still 10db higher than it needs to be.

Has anyone been successful in bringing the noise down significantly on a stock exhaust? Can you let me know how you did this?

I have read numerous threads on db killers, air filters etc.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Read the Sutki post here on how to tweak the exhaust valve, prob you need to find a better way to lock the valve during the tests. In OZ it is allegedly forbidden to put steel wool in the baffles:

Hey Manny, can u give me more details on what ur bike passed? Compliance? Or track use? The engineer doing the compliance on mine says it needs to be at 95db at a certain RPM. It's currently at 105db
