Hi,

During racing I encountered, that during crashes, even small ones, the mounting eye on the frame for the steering damper breaks.Has anyone had the same issues? It has been a big issue to repair this after the crash and looks terrible with the repair (if possible to repair). If not possible to repair you need a new frame. For the past few months I have been working on something that could protect the eye/Frame for breaking, or if broken make it possible to mount the damper without changing out the frame.. I have tested it and now have made the final design. In what colors would you like to see this part?

Just for info:
there are,at least,2 ways that I know,to protect the thingy.
-1 put a travel limiter on the steering, just beneath the second fork clamps(where the bump-stopos woks.
I have got it,a little painful while maneuvering the Pani in the box,but acceptable.

-2 mount a side dumper
I have got it,and really happy with that.

Hi,

I also have the same travel limiter from spider mounted on the race bike, but a bit scary and dangerous for road use. And I can assure you, that when you have a bad crash on the track the spider limiter also breaks. The steering damper bracket can be used with the frame mount still in-tact, or when already broken off.

This is a good invention and I will almost certianly buy one. I like the black but natural aluminum would also be fine. Thanks!

How is the installation? What needs to be removed to get there?

You only have to disconnect the steering damper from the existing mount, the broken off mount and install the "Frame Saver with the 2 included bolts at the existing fastening of the fairing holder. You might need to adjust the the height from the side where the damper is mounted on the clip-on fastening as the damper will be situated a bit higher. Installing should not take more than 10 minutes.

Cool. Interested. Mine is not broken but would consider to preserve original frame.

Since I’m not riding anytime soon will let this pandemic situation pass and contact you.

FYI, other things often break in a fall. The steering stops break off easily. Put a lead wheel weight on the frame stop. It softens the blow that breaks frame .
Also, the clip ons almost always dent the upper fork leg in a crash.

To say thanks to Kraaitech for his A++/5 stars service and expedited accommodation for my request.
I was able to ride my bike after the damper mount broke off.
This looks solid and installed in 5 minutes. I bought another for a backup,
