Hey guys, I'm the market for a Ducati Panigale 1299 and recently found a bike that meets my criteria it is a 2016 model with only 900 miles on it. He has offered me a very good deal on the bike. The bike is spotless but seller stats it has an issue where it will randomly shutoff when in 1st gear after the bike has gotten up to temp, turned off , then let set for 30 mins and turned back on it and try to take off is the only time it will do it.

So my question is should I pass on this bike or do they all have similar problems like this?

Any answers or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I had an issue like this on my brand new 959 during the break-in period. The engine would just shut off completely when riding. I took it to the dealer and he did some "reset" he said but it didn't happen after that.

This is a hit or miss issue with the 1299. I have two of them. One of them had this problem, the other hasn't had a single issue yet. I removed the charcoal canister on the one having the issue and it hasn't been an issue except once since doing so. They say getting a tune for the bike helps with this as well.

^^ Ditto ^^

I removed the charcoal canister after 3000 miles and stalling / hard start-ups were eliminated for me. The only other time my 1299 stalled was on the highway at 75 mph - caused by a bad fuse according to the dealer. Hasn't stalled since, but I make sure I have spare fuses on hand.
