I bought a sheet of stomp grip to put on tank & curved part of fairing. I cut the pieces, but haven't mounted them yet.

I've never used the stuff (never had a need till now). Can I remove it after 24 hours? Or is it a permanent adhesive?

Would any of you mind posting pictures of how you mounted yours?

Thanks.

It's not permanent, and you can actually peel it off and re-attach it a time or two before the adhesive is shot. You want to heat it up first when you install it, head up both the grip pads and the tank. I use a heat gun but a hairdryer works fine also. And make sure you degrease the tank with some windex or alcohol first. Peel back a corner of the paper backing, line it up, and stick that corner on, then work you way across pressing it down as you go and peeling back the paper. Press hard to get the bubbles out.

Here's how I mounted mine:

I went with tech-spec on mine, as I've heard stomp grip is pretty hard on leathers, clothing.

THe other thing I like on tech spec is that it comes with a separate piece that fits in the notched area of the top fairing just below and forward of the tank grip material, I'm long legged and that's right where the end of my leg/knee fits.

Stomp grip cut down to fit lower edge of tank..

Thanks guys. Here's what I did. I also cut out some crescent shaped ones for the curved part of the fairing. I may wait to see how these work first.

I didn't do the side of the tank b/c my legs don't really touch there. I think this came out pretty nice. I cut down the raised domes close to the edges as advised. It's raining for the next 3 days, but can't wait to see how this works.

These pics sort of make the grip harder to see than it actually is. But I was going for a solution that works and does not stand out.
