I'm finally getting around to upgrading my drivetrain from the OEM 525 setup. I've seen a ton of CNC hub/flange covers on here and while researching options came across a carbon fiber option:

Ducati SBK 1199 Panigale Carbon Fiber Rear Sprocket Flange Cover | eBay

Is this a structural piece that needs to be robust? The OEM piece looks very beefy and this CF option looks flimsy in comparison. If it doesn't matter, this option seems to be the lightest weight and also happens to be the cheapest at just over $100.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

You know me and glossy carbon fiber Jeff !! :)
If its a cover you really can't go wrong since there isn't any true stress or pressure being put on that thing. If you keep the stock one this is a perfect inexpensive cover to use instead of buying an entire new piece in color or something like so many of us did. You gonna change away from the 525 set up and drop some teeth? lol

I am actually trying to think of anything I can do on the Tri but nothing comes to mind when I stand there staring at the bike. Its totally "blinged" out ! :(

grind excess parting lines & polish all bare aluminum parts on bike (suspension linkage, sidestand, ...), full CF subframe, ...

sorry ;)

BTW - the SV is racing at Road Atlanta this weekend :D

Looking forward to more podium spots Phil. Thats why I built that bike for you man!

Don't you have a GoPro btw? Anxious to see video of you riding it. I know people have said it sounds like a Ducati when you get on the gas hard right? :)

If I may be so bold to provide an option for you Gunny...

Convert over to a full Pierobon trellis frame... Ducatis look sexiest when they have a trellis frame. My opinion of course.

That is of course, if you can even buy them yet.
