Broke a tab on the carbon fiber cover above the left side fairing. What do you recommend as the strongest product for tab repair. Search turned up Permatex 84115 and Loctite Plastic Bonder Epoxy. Will this work ok with carbon fiber? Thanks.
Hysol 608 clear is best for Carbon Fiber, but I have also used Loctite Epoxy Instant Mix a 5 Minute a two-part adhesive before on a carbon fiber tabs (3200 PSI strength). It is only rated at 120 degrees F but it has held over 3 years right next to the engine with no problems. Pretty damn strong stuff and I think the CF would peel before this stuff breaks.
Thanks all for your help.
I was being careful but clearly not careful enough. Did the 881 service bulletin and should have spent more time making the lead run (that goes underneath the carbon fiber cover) more compact. Was having difficulty getting that tab near the tank inserted and broke it off. Should be able to properly take care of things though during the next 5 months or so of downtime...
