If your so inclined, you can lift the tank and check some things. There is a large 19 pin cannon type connector that connects the injectors and throttle position sensors that is located on the throttle body plate. You could visually "wiggle/look" at these for any obvious signs. I have seen poor connections in both the TPS sensors and the Injectors and in the main injector wiring plug. Additionally there are injector failures and bad TPS. If it is not a loose connection, your going to the dealer. If it is an injector, they will replace that part. If it is a TPS, they replace the entire throttle body. The TPS sensors are removable but from what I understand, they replace the TB. Additionally it could be anything electrical all the way back to the ECU. I bought a few complete injection units off ebay just for spare parts. The TPS sensors are fastened with tamper proof Torx but they are replaceable. The tank removal is easy but involved. If your at all nervous about it. Head to Omaha. This bike is a royal pain in the ... in many respects.Depending on your skill sets and resources the bike is either completely serviceable or not serviceable at all. The EOBD/Engine Fault code system is a joke. Just about anything will throw that code.
