Question for the track experts

Aftermarket clip ons

what do they Do

help lower your position?

open up the bars?

what are the benefits of different setups?

Usually aftermarket don't crack like the OEM ones! There's a technical bulletin out for them.

Other than that, similar to rearsets. Easier to replace parts in a crash, easier to adjust for comfort.

Nothing too spectacular. I've got a set of Spider clipons to fit on my bike, but I was happy with stock for the first 2,900 miles (until I heard about the bulletin!)

Also looks like they (CNC Racing) might be a little longer and free up real estate on the bars for the RCS-19 master cylinder and the after-market switch gear?

Does anyone have a copy of the handlebar Tech Bulletin? Thanks!

1. longer bars: more leverage and better position for cornering.
2. adjustable offset: can adjust bar angle to your liking.
3. easily replaceable in event of crash

Was doing a little research on possibly doing clip-ons for better ergonomics. I’m 5’7” and was wondering if short offset (tangent tube) would be beneficial to bring them closer. Looked on the WSBK bikes since Alvaro is about the same size as me and he’s running what looks to be similar offset clip-ons to OEM (I think it’s 25 mm). Maybe it’s to keep more weight over the front? I would’ve thought he’d be running 0 mm offset to shorten his reach.

You are quoting a post from almost three years ago. What are you trying to find out?

Yes, Do CNC clipons is good option for Panigale V4 if i want to add RCS. With OEM clipons, its hard to fit them correctly.

I had the CNC clip-ons and the only thing I didn't like about them was how the steering damper mounts. The mount is a separate piece and fits below the clip-on and won't work with a steering stop saver. The mount is also a bit short, and the steering damper will be at an angle when the front wheel is straight.

I think a better solution is the ones made by ALLEA, IMA or Extreme Components where the damper mount is built into the clip-on mount. IMA are probably the best as they have more adjustment.

Spider Racing is also good, but use a separate damper mount. Unlike the CNC Racing one, it is the correct length. Spider makes two versions of a steering stop saver which fits on the frame where the horn is. I think one, that has two extra screws on it may allow you to keep the horn, but I'm not sure on that.

The RCS will fit with the OEM bars, you just need new switch gear. They replace the bracket for the RCS or OEM master. There are many different ones on the market, Jetprime, WRS, CNC and Bike Sport Development all make options.

I have Extreme Components and liked them a lot, but they would not work with OEM brake lines. I might get longer lines over the winter so I can use them.

I ended up using Spider for the time being - wish they had longer bars.
