I'll be brief. So last night my clutch nearly gave out entirely riding to my friends to do some preparation for me tracking my R this Monday at NJMP. And in typical Ducati fashion the thing wouldn't bleed so I completely drained the system and attempted to flush it and nothing. I had a bleeder vac and hooked up to the master cylinder and slave cylinder and the fluid in the reservoir finally went down significantly but nothing came through the bleeder hose. So after an hour of pump pump pump at 230 this morning we finally have up.

My question- to those of you who had this issue fixed- Did the dealership have parts in stock? It's Saturday and my pessimistic ass doesn't see and Tri-state area dealer stocking a mc or slave, or am I wrong?

I'm supposed to leave at noon tomorrow to head to south jersey and if I miss my track day because of this bike I will be posting my R for sale by weeks end because I am spent. Too many special events have been missed because of poor quality control.

The Ducati Gods .... on me once again.

That sucks! I'm an auto mechanic and have found different systems react better to different bleeding methods. Hope someone here can offer the best method for your bike.
When I was selling mine, a guy came in from out of town to check it out. He sits on the bike, starts it and tries to put it in gear. Clunk, stall. I did a quick pump it up and crack the bleeder and was surprised it worked.

So you got all the fluid out of the reservoir, and none came out of the bleeders?
That is weird. No leaks?
In any case, today is Saturday, and if you want to try to replace the slave, I would open up the choice to aftermarket salves, which would give you better chances to be found in short time (on top of reportedly fixing the issue).

If it's not working Mark Bilt will be a the track and he should be able to take a look at it or at last come up with a work around.

If you don't know who he is, he will be the guy in the ohlins truck setting up suspensions etc.

Enjoy the track

Guys at the dealership agreed to let me drop it off on an emergent fix. They're playing with it now and if it doesn't bleed out they may remove a slave and m/c from a 1199 on the floor and install on my R to get me moving again.

After the track I'm ordering aftermarket CNC slave, and looking into new, better master cylinders as well.

I've said it before, but anyone reading this should realize--sooner or later--they're going to run into an issue just like Mr. White. Do yourself a favor and get an aftermarket one. I bled mine every 1500-4000 miles - usually just at the gas station using just a small 12 point and a blue paper towel. No big deal. But then it started 'sticking', so before stranding me I went with an Oberon. Zero issues after that.

Ducati slaves suck. And apparently they have for years. Best $150 I spent on my bike (and the install is easy).

+1 above. I use the Oberon on my MV and apart from easier pull in force required, it also makes finding neutral a lot easier. If anyone has one in stock near you today, I would just go ahead and buy it. It's a very quick install.
