34 degrees out, the instructor is warning all riders that there could be ice around the track.
Face shield mostly fogged up at 155 mph
When I entered the track the dash is warning me of possible ice.......
Bike worked great, luckily there were cars there to run the track in and create a groove.

It was , first time out on the pani.
Looking forward to next summer when it is dry.

Wow! I attempted Angels Crest this morning around 9:30 am and temp showing 38. I got to up to about 3,000 ft elevation and the road was just too wet and I saw ice. I pulled over and about two minutes later a guy on a dual sport went past me and almost lost it in the corner.......rode home and and still thawing out my bells!

I used to do a track day around February here in the UK (as prep for a week on track in Spain in March each year) but after one year when 8 bikes went down BEFORE leaving the pit lane I decided against that going forward!

Glad you had fun though.

Interesting, I see that you didn't take off your mirrors, rear turn signals or tape your lights. I thought that was SOP at the track. I'm riding there in the summer. Is the Ridge different? What about coolant?

To my knowledge you do not need to change the coolant unless you plan on racing, like the WMRRA series.
Normally you would have to tape all hard plastic and glass, but they did not require it that day. Not sure why, but saved me a little time.

Holy s@$t, and here I am complaining my upcoming ride day is too bloody hot! No more, thanks for making me see how lucky we have it.

Respect to you though, I guess the traction control and abs is a safety feature in those conditions? Or at least peace of mind.
