at I went on a 9 day/3200 km journey to Italy with the Pani - 33°C

Troubles with the standard seat are
- the extreme heat mostly on the first 5 cm
- the round profile that makes you slip to front
- the missing comfort, the foam is to hard

Can anyone tell about experiences with the Ducati performance comfort seat?
How is the contact knee to tank?

Greetings Panimike

I bought my 1299 used and they were already installed. I have no complaints about the comfort seat. I can ride however long and my ... doesn't get sore. Very thick padding.

I went cross(ish) country in week and half on the comfort seat. Couldn't imagine doing it on the stocker.

Doesn't make it into a touring bike or anything but definitely takes the edge off.

I'm 800 miles into my road trip right now. I have a 2014 1199S with the comfort seat and some Kriega drybags. I can tell you this about the comfort seat.

For traveling it was amazing. My ... didnt hurt at all after 8+ hours in the saddle. In fact I could have gone all day if not for my suit rubbing the back of my knees raw and my wrist getting tired holding the throttle. I also have the SSTK exhaust to answer about the heat.

On the flip side...I despise the height of the seat. I hate how tall and on top of the bike it makes me feel! I would much rather run the stock seat for any aggressive riding or track days.

Just take your OEM seat to an upholstery place and have some foam added wherever you want it. I do that with all of my bikes.

You can have a single layer added to the whole seat, or add multiple layers arranged differently to change the shape, etc. They just remove the staples, add foam where/how you want it, and staple it back. I have done that on about 16-17 bikes and it never costs more than $40.

I didn't like the extra height the comfort seat gave so I got mine shaped and lowered and now it's awesome. The grip and foam density was is much better than the std 1199 seat. Being on the bike all day is no longer a problem and does not leave me thinking I should have taken my Multistrada

I don't have the skill to do that but that sounds great to do.

nor me, I paid a seat dude to do it :D...lucky I got the seat thrown in with the bike otherwise it would have been a very expensive seat!!

Guys who reshape seats? I have the stocker n the comfort and I love the grip and softness of the comfort seat but the height sucks for me on my wrists..... I think if I lower it some it will be perfect.....

I switch between the two. The added height of the comfort seat is meh, but it does keep me from sliding forwards easily, which is good/bad. I can't move around as quickly as I can on the stock seat. If I'm going on a long casual ride, it's the comfort seat. If I want to be able to ride aggressively, it HAS to be the stock seat.

I've put heat reflective tape under both seats. It helps a little. When I got the comfort seat, it actually ran slightly hotter than the stock seat with heat tape, so the tape definitely makes a difference.

Yeah I'm thinking of cutting my comfort seat to the stock seat height then it would be just right.
