Thinking of installing the CW Integrated tail light kit (Smoke). Does anyone know if its really "plug and Play"?
How difficult is it to remove the stock light and install CW's in its place?

Any instructions on how to remove or install would be great. or should I let the stealer (I mean dealer) do it.

I'm pretty mechanical; i've just never put my hands on a Ducati.. (Experience level is working on Harley's and Gixxer's multiple times).

I have the competition werks FE kit (with LED turn lights still in the box) and the directions talk of minimal crimping of wires under tail section (for turn signals). otherwise its pretty simple

I am thinking of selling mine and going back to something that is closer to stock.

The Dragon Lady with her smoked CW integral tail lights. It is plug and play.

@Claymore, do you have a video you can send me so i can see how it works, and how bright it is?

If the OP is as 'pretty mechanical' as stated then you wont have any issues. Its plug and play as mentioned before. I want to say the only tricky part was a couple of the bolts.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being difficult), I'd say this one was a 3.

Thanks

It's pretty easy and plug n play for the light but I also used the CW fender eliminator which requires a splice of the license plate light and includes splice tap so it's easy as well if you go that route. I wouldn't pay to have it done.

Done. Left the first CW kit on just for the license plate light.

Just to clarify, you installed this on a 1299?

I assume what fits the 1199 also fits the 1299..(newbie 1299 owner)

If you're talking about the above post, that is the New Rage Cycle kit, not the Comp. Werks like the thread title suggests.

There is a kit for the 1299, IIRC there is a slight different in the way the passenger footpegs mount between the 1199 and 1299. So, there is a bit of a difference in the kitm but New Rage does sell a 1299 kit.

Yes this is on a 1299. It is a NRC kit AND the CW integrated tail light kit. My stock tail light got cracked by a rock on the road so I needed a new tail light. A new stock tail light was $224 and the CW integrated tail light was $150 on ebay so I got the integrated one. I ended up keeping the NRC kit for the license plate light and to hide the wires, but the signals are not plugged in because the CW kit are using the signal wires. So, if anyone ask.. Yes you can have both CW and NRC kits at the same time... :)

All of the integrated signals I've seen aren't very distinguishable when the brake is activated. The only exception I've seen is the Motodynamic one, which for whatever reason seems to unobtainable.

Just go with the New Rage Cycles unit. Its very bright, and the second gen unit is literally plug and play.

I bought the CW tail light kit first, COMPLETELY pointless in the daytime, and marginal at night. Waste of money. One of the other guys has the integrated one, and it can be seen kinda ok at night, hard to distinguish from brake light, daytime pointless.

NOLA

Just had my CW replaced by the Ducati dealer. Had one of the early 1299 versions and the break lights just went out. Only after 4 month!!!! - Should have it replaced soon.
