Does anyone, perhaps more prevalent in Southern California, have experience with purchasing a 1299 Panigale S through the Costco motorcycle program?

I'm heading to the dealer today to discuss the details, but was unsure if this bike was even applicable or if anyone has gone this route with their purchase?

Los Angeles area, and Del Amo Motorsports was the one to call me back, but I'd like to see if Newport Ducati has a similar deal as well.

I tried the same program for my ZX6R and it was 10% or so off of MSRP, but typically only applicable to certain models at the time.

I saw L.A. but figured I'd ask. Some folks put L.A. and they live in places like riverside county, orange county, etc. Apparently L.A. seems to cover all of SoCal which is news to me.

Anywho, you have a lot of options. Del Amo charges a ton in setup n freight fees and their sale prices most of the time makes no sense. Pro Italia is where I got mine but I definitely didn't get a great deal back in the day. You may even wanna try down in San Diego or even a little further up north for some better deals. The costco program may not be an option but I'm not sure.

Thank you for the quick feedback, I was thinking about ProItalia as well since they are closest to me in North Hollywood.

+1 for PI. They are my go to shop for new ducs. I usually work with Ben and have gotten excellent service with fair pricing.

Ducati specifically does not participate in the Costco wholesale program.

I would go through a reputable Dealer even if they are out of state.

the good ones are great to deal with and ship.

Hell I'm sure Jarel (Ducati Omaha) who is an active member on the board can offer you a bike at a price that works for both of you, I would hit him up.

After a trip to Del Amo I can verify whet jarelj said, atleast for panigale Costco does not have a deal going on. However I got a pretty great deal on not only the bike but my trade in and purchased the S yesterday!

Hmm. Well this is interesting...

Costco does not deal with manufacturers as much as individual dealers. But even for Toyota some models will not apply [Tacoma/4runners]

We have that program here ay work. Its a great program for Toyota, phone ups will not be given a price over the phone and we request a visit to the dealership.

Internet leads can be given prices.

Best bet for OP is to find the local dealership that Costco approves, and get a price. Then shop it.

Generally for Toyotas and as a salesman, I tell my own mother to use that program.

Sinjin this is exactly where I started, which lead to a phone call and saying you have to come into the dealer to find out if any Costco discounts can apply. Once there you find out they don't but they already have your information at that point and you in the dealer so works quite well for the dealer.

Rode quite a bit today, but had a heart attack this morning when I couldn't see the coolant level and though the PDI might have been done incorrectly. That's when I found out how difficult it is to see coolant in this sight windows, jeepers.

The dealer was deviating from the Costco plan. A Costco agent in the dealership can tell you if certain vehicles do apply over the Phone. Only pricing is said not to be talked about.

If that happened when Costco mystery shops them they will loose the franchise. Took us Years to get it.

I don't doubt that it likely doesn't lead anywhere, however I was just amazed at how much effort went in to generating a page that winds up, by all accounts, being worthless and a waste of time.

I don't have a Costco membership (or Sam's for that matter) so what I posted was as far as I got.

Besides, I am not in the market for a new bike... yet.
