Loving my 1299s. Definitely a different bike than my 2013 S1000RR. Throttle control with the V twin is a different beast, particularly at lower RPMs while taking off. Ready to get the miles in and get that 600 mile service so I can really start to open it up. For those in the know I have a couple of questions:

1. Any tricks with the kickstand? I wear full gear pretty much all the time even when riding on the street and getting the kickstand down with racing boots is a ...... I have Sidi's and Dainese and I end up doing weird stuff with my foot to get the kickstand down.

2. Anybody know what Pitbull rear stand to order? Same as for the 1199?

thanks in advance.

1. Yeah its PITA with race boots on.. I slide left on the seat so I can get my toe cap on the tip to drop it.

2. Same as the 1199

Use your toe or just look down. You can always flick it with your left hand.

For the side stand I point my toe out and use my heel to lift up on the spring-loaded rearset. Lift up on the rearset and push in and down (hooking the tip of the kickstand base with the edge of the heel of my boot).

Felt like such a noob when I first tried to get it down... I'm sure anyone around must've thought worse. Glad I could really care less about what most people think ;)

I just got my new Pitbull stands yesterday. I ordered through Revzilla. They're the same cost as ordering from Pitbull but there's no shipping. They still drop ship directly from Pitbull.

For the rear it's this one. Pit Bull Hybrid One Armed Rear Stand Ducati 1098 / 1198 / 1199 / Diavel / Multistrada / Monster 1200 - RevZilla I did the two pin option so that you can mount it from either side.

For the front it's this one and then you'll need the #28S pin. Pit Bull Hybrid Dual Lift Stand - RevZilla

You can also order just the forklift stand if you don't want the dual option but I think it's well worth it to be able to lift from the triple tree.

Kickstand is easiest with the heel of your boot.

I hope an aftermarket kickstand that's easier to use comes out soon.

This came up a few times when 1199 came out. Most people found it was easiest using your toe, moving it forwards under the footpeg.

Appreciate all the answers guys.

The few times I have squidded it and wore my dainese riding shoes the kick stand was pretty easy to get to, but I've had to do everything mentioned above when I wore the Vortice or Axial Pro In. The lift rearset and catch the kickstand with the heel works well with the Vortice, but not the axial pro. For the axial pro i have to try and catch it with the toe. And if you're able to flick it with your hand, you're wayyyy taller than me.

Thanks for the confirmation that the 1199 rear stand works with the 1299. Already have the front dual lift stand and just need to get the pin.

Thanks again.

Had the same problem. Practice. I wear alpine super techs and I use my toe. Got it mastered now. Big toe

Stop using your heel to get the kickstand down, use your toe, its easy that way. :D

I use my heel with both my dainese C2B shoes as well as my forma ice race boot. No problems at all.

I've searched but haven't seen what I'm looking for. Is the trailer restraint system for the 1299 the same as the 1199?

Why do I get the feeling you are not even looking at the Pitbull website ?

It will be the same. Just need the 1199 pin. The pin comes with it

Well, you would be wrong. There is no information on the 1299 on the pitbull site. It has two different trailer restraint systems for single armed swingarms. Small hub and large hub. I was only confirming that they use the same pin on the trailer restraint. Thanks.

Word... I usually use the heal of my boot to lift up the left side foot peg, then come straight down with the boot. Kickstand is down with no problem.

Put my toe just underneath the left foot peg and just step down. Comes down every time :)

For the stands the 1299 and 1199 are the same both large hub not many things that are different for the 2 bikes

I am thinking about machining a small extension to make this more accessible. It would be just enough to put it down with my boot.
