I am 5'11 197 lbs and i know those italians design for somewhat lankier guys. is there anyone in here who's around my size with a dainese suit?

There are none around my area to try on unfortunately so i'm gonna order one using an educated guess. eu 56? my upper chest, shoulders and arms are thick.

looking at laguna seca or similar 1 piece.

56 might be good. I'm 5'11" 210 and wear a 58 but that's because I have a big chest and want to fit a back protector and chest protector.

I am 6'2" 220 muscly build and wear a size 58 Alpinestars GP Tech suit. I know it isn't Dainese but it is still Italian.

You should call Audrey at MotoLiberty in Dalls Texas. She sells Dainese and RS Taichi. Audrey will fit you correctly, she knows the product and she is easy to work with. Audrey may require a security deposit (it will depend on your conversations with her) but typically she will ship you suits until you find the right one. Also, she has the ability to take an RS Taichi suit and make slight modifications to it so it will fit you. Audrey can also have a tailor made suit for you straight from the RS Taichi factory in Japan. Audrey also sells Arai and Alpinestar. It is a killer shop and the staff is very experienced and helpful. This is not a store with a bunch of "cool dude" guys working behind the parts counter.

Yep you are a 56 euro in Dianese, the Laguna suit runs a little small BUT Dianese leather is soft and mostly broken in unlike alpine stars which is much more stuff and tight.

i have a few suits . im 5 11 230 muscular 34 waist 50 chest i wear a 58 alpine stars atem suit a 58 held evo and a 58 in rs tai chi i cant fit in anything else. and they were all tight at first they stretch.

i cant even consider dainese

I find Dainese tight on the shoulders.

Most places will tell you the suit should be tight beware of that advice as you don't want a race fit but it should not be baggy. You also have a good backprotector to consider.

Order through Revzilla etc as they have free returns and will work with you to get the right fit.

Good luck

thanks for the tips guys. i'm traveling to Vancouver to try a few on at BMW as they have some in stock. it's worth the hour and a half trip to get it right. every time i have bought anything italian i've ended up with XXL.

I'm almost exactly your size; 5'11" and was 220+ lbs, am now 195 lbs and my Dainese Laguna one piece is perfect for me and has enough room for a back protector. I have a long torso and it was a bit tight in the nutsack region for a while, but the leather is good quality and does stretch slightly as you wear it in.. I wear a 56. In fact, you can see me wearing said suit in my Avatar picture to the left..

Also each model of jacket/suit is different.

I have a 58 suit, 54 air frazer jacket and 56 Super Speed C2

After trying on several veloster and avro suits, 56 was too small and 60 too big so 58 it is.

My weakness seems to be the thickness across my shoulders, and a slightly longer torso.

Ordering a 58 laguna seca :)

I'm 5'11 and 190 but I had given up hope for a one piece. I'm not very flexible and I want it to be a solo effort. Problem is the knee puck area gets too low as I go up in chest size. Hence the zip-together 2 piece.

I'm 6'2 205 lbs and I couldn't fit any Dainese gear comfortably. That whole "euro fit" is not made for bigger folks like us.

I've been wearing the other Italian manufacture, Spidi and 56 Euro fits me perfectly.

In the same boat as you :) same height almost same weight (i'm 185 pound with very wide shoulders) and i cant find any one piece suit that will fit me. To custom order one is $8000+ AUD and there is no freaking way i am going to spend that kind of money just to have a brand name from Italy.

I'm 5'11" 195lb and couldn't get a Dainese standard size suit to fit. 56 was to small and 58 was a little big. I have a longer torso and shorter legs so in a 56 I couldn't even get my other arm in the suit. So I went the custom fit route.

Dainese are a little narrow, i would personally go try a Alpinestar they tend to but a little roomier
