this stuff is interesting....... yes money could be spent elsewhere, and it can fit the bling box too, yes we fooking know that Superdominique.....

what do you do or know then?

It is possible to export CSV data from DDA but not through the provided Prosa software, which is quite frustrating. I am in contact with a member of another forum who is working on this currently and I tested his first pass at this and it works, so I now have video with a data overlay from DDA. The CSV file is then easily imported into Race Render, for example, and the video with overlay can be produced. Once this has progressed further it can be shared.

I don’t think DDA collects brake pressure data though, regardless of it being possible for ABS equipped bikes. There is a SuperSport upgrade kit from Ducati that uses additional sensors to provide this data but it’s still not going to allow data export for overlays as far as I am aware.

AIM offer a Solo 2 DL track kit that provides lots of data, including front brake pressure, and it’s plug and play and automatically puts the overlay onto the video when you use the full kit.

It would be interesting to get user’s experience, alternatives, and how data is being used to create improvements.

this is interesting approach..

When doing it like this I found it very useful for the video to also show the bike’s display and then it was easy to synchronise the first gear change shown on video with the first gear change shown on the data overlay.

The full AIM kit (including the camera) automatically does this - convenient but obviously adds significantly to the costs.

AIM solo 2 is nice, but can get real pricey.

The data logger and cables aren’t too bad (compared to the price of DDA and what each of these provide) but AIM starts to get expensive when adding their camera as it’s certainly not cheap.

I2M dash comes with bunch of sensors.

It's nicer than AIM because replaces original dash so you don't have to look down when you out to see time/splits

Otherwise Motec, superbike unlimited has a video of some kind of alpha version installed. No idea if anything has changed since then

Magnetti Marelli is 10k+

I ran AIM Solo 2 DL on my 959. It is great but I really am fussy about thing strapped down in cockpit and so I ended up swapping I2M Chrome Pro. My 19 R I did I2M Chrome Pro 2 and as on 959 it was great but to be perfectly honest those systems are built around R1 platform and they had some very annoying issues in regard to menu navigation. 23R I wanted to just leave oem dash and use the DDA which has had very inconsistent results, works sometimes doesn't work others. I feel like it would be a huge step if Ducati came with a fully updated Data suite and software with the 25R. Towards the end of this last season I chucked on Aim solo (not DL) just to get consistent lap times - this also wasn't working very well which was frustrating, it could have been that I mounted it on side of front stay because I refuse to mount in cockpit - but that shouldn't matter.
Next season I am going back to Aim Solo 2 DL w/ the new ACC setup that is avail that will allow you to run a simpler complete data system in the cheapest way which I have been wanting for a while. Consists of Aim Solo 2 DL // ACC Analog Can Converter 4 inputs // 2 Susp Pots // 2 Brake Pressure inputs This will provide everything I need in the tidiest package avail.

I2M Chrome Pro 2 only comes with TPS + Lambda, anything else you have to buy. That is only if you but Pro 2 - all others don't come with anything IIRC

Karl have you ever had GPS issues with Aim on V4R 23 ?

I know the guy who had lots, likely interference with the OEM dash. He even spliced external GPS into AIM and mounted it on the tail. Still issues. Can't get stable GPS coordinates at Mugello for example.

That’s interesting. I get where you are coming from with regard to a clean installation. AIM advise not replacing the OEM dash with their unit.

DDA is quite woeful in terms of getting reliable laps and I get the same thing as you in terms of sometimes not seeming to get the data, recognising laps, etc. It really could do with an update and allowing data export as it doesn’t seem to have been updated for a very long time and it’s nowhere near what it could or should be.

I’ll have a look at the setup you mentioned.

To be fair, AIM package is very competitivly priced vs. for example 2D sensors that Alpha sells for BMW.
Sensors alone cost 1.3k euros.

@KarlKani Picking up on your comment in the other thread about bulk and cost of the camera setup, I’m not quite sure why it has to be so expensive. I guess it does allow for more than one camera, so it has that going for it. They also do GoPro style cameras that I guess be used. Again, not exactly cheap…

I guess the Solo 2 DL could be used on its own and video data could be imported to the software they provide.

They also seem to do a somewhat cheaper SmartyCam 3 Sport (£665 plus VAT compared to the SmartyCam GP at £1,500 plus VAT) that I believe you could connect to the DL. A normal style action camera compared to the bullet style ones.

More investigation required.

I know. That is why I am pushing for it. I have an MXP Race in my V2 already but it is not plug-and-play.

If you could unplug the dash and plug in a DL dash… 👍

They advise not to do this with the current models, but I don’t know if that’s simply for legal protection or if the dash has functions beyond simply displaying data… You obviously need to also access and control all bike settings through the controls. Might be a step too far.
