The search doesn't come up with much because "DDA" is to short so I made this thread :).

For those of you who have the DDA-kit. How do you like it so far?
Is it worth buying if you don't own the tricolore, easy to work with, reliable, any problems with it?

It works well, but does not come with great instructions so it takes a little experimentation to understand. The lap comparison feature is my favorite. Even if you don't always use the DDA recording feature, just having the GPS lap timer trigger and lap times reading out in real-time on the dash is awesome!

Is it possible to buy the GPS module without the Data Analyzer? I would like to ahve my laptimes auto-record instead of having to press the light-button each time.

No, the GPS module is part of the DDA+ GPS kit, Ducati does not sell it separately.

I collected my kit yesterday, but it still remains for me to summon the energy and strip the front end to fit the retched module.

Xbox, why wouldn't you have the dealer install it? They are supposed to do it free of charge if you got the Tri since it was supposed to come with it.
From what I hear it's a hassle to put in.

Dude, better for my bike to stay away from the dealer, I get too worried when people work on my bike

Besides, I like doing this stuff.

Do NOT leave the module connected to the bike!!!

Just had my battery replaced (under warranty Luckily) as after leaving it on there for about 4 days it was completely dead.

For the rest it's really quite a cool little gizmo. interesting to see your ride broken down that way. Can imagine it would be really useful for track days not that I have done any yet on the Pani but maybe soon.

GPS works well, would be great if you could use it with maps on the dash!

+1

Yes, sorry I don't mean the whole thing or GPS. I just mean don't leave the" Red USB memory stick Module" connected under the seat.

Easy to remove, just don't leave it connected if not riding. Only took 4 days to drain my battery completely.

For the rest it's great, lot's of info that'll help you improve laptimes/riding, and it maps the roads/track lines for later review.

Going to go pick the bike up from the dealer now, they're opening a new dealership in Abu Dhabi here on Saturday, so I'm going there to meet Troy Bayliss and eat some cake! ;)

Cool, tell him to come to Belgium on the 13th so he can give me some good advice on my next trackday :D.

My streetfighter S has the same USB datalogger but honestly I have never used it because I don't ride it on the track :). It never drained the battery so I'm guessing it works differently.

I cant seem to find the DDA available on ducati.com. Can anyone tell me the price of the module?

Thanks

Had it on my 1098s, used it twice.
Had it always connected, can't believe it drains the battery as it only works with the system turned on.

I can confirm it does after doing some technical diagnostics on it...wanted to use the port and dongle for other purposes.

It would be for all practical sake 6 days tops, as it consumes current with just having voltage applied. The diag port on the panigale is always hot, this may be different on previous ducatis, but in this bikes case with the red dongle connected, the battery wont hold out for long.

Even if there is enough power to light up the dash, after a few days time with the dongle connected the battery wont have enough umph to crank over the motor effectively.

See the thread below to read about similar experiences
