May be a stupid question, but does the S model come with DDA installed or am I going to have to buy something?

Does anyone have experience with the analysis software at the track? Curious how user friendly it is and what sort of data it generates. The Yamaha software is pretty kick ... so I'm wondering how close the Ducati package is to theirs...

Does not come with it. You have to buy the module and GPS antenna.

Hi mate,

Just be aware there are 2 versions, basic and race specific (not the correct wording). Unfortunately you need to buy the basic version (gps transponder and usb stick) seperately if you wish to have the race system.

The "basic system" has a great gps mapping system with speed, throttle position, gear, distance, temp...I can't remember the rest.

The 'race' version has front and rear brake sensors, as well as front and rear suspension telescopic feedback sensors. Its ....... brilliant. You can see how much brake pressure your using as well as how your suspension is reacting.

In Australia the basic package is about $600 and the race package is about $2000.

It depends on what you want from it. Some guys here love it, other hate it.

The software download process from Prossa isn't straight forward and they rarely update it, but I have it on Mac and PC and works the same on both.

Have a look here:

Hope this helps.

Interesting...on the Ducati Performance site they only list one part number for the DDA kit - any idea how you would get ahold of the "race package"?

I guess he means the the "Panigale Data Acquisition Kit"?
This kit comes without DDA stick and GPS module.

I sell a new kit for half the price. I have to check whether I have left some DDA sticks and GPS modules around...

Just in case you don't find any: I have a DDA stick and GPS I would part with. I have already described in another thread that I have mixed experience with the GPS. I rarely had accurate and reliable lap timing. I haven't even tried other functions. I haven't ever refreshed the software, though. And it is for 1199 if that matters.

I forgot to mention that in order to use the USB stick to download the extra data available for the 'race kit' you will need an old PC that uses windows 7 so the usb stick can be formatted.

The software is again downloaded from the Prosa website.

Have you used the software? Curious what channels it actually downloads. Specifically I'm wondering if it has brake pressure? I'd really like to use this at the track to map things like speed, gear, lean angle, gear, etc...and brake pressure would be really nice to have.
Man, the Prosa website is a joke - no email support whatsoever...compared to the Yamaha data telemetry software that comes standard with the R1M, the Ducati software looks like something designed from 10 years ago!

The OEM DDA+ GPS provides the basic channels such as throttle opening, vehicle speed, engine rpm, gear selection, engine temperature, distance travelled, revs and DTC index in addition to lean angle on some bikes such as the 15+ R models and I believe the V4 series.

You’ll need to install additional sensors included with the Corse package add-on (not cheap) if you are looking for advanced data acquisition channels such as brake pressure and suspension data. Gets expensive, quickly.

Stealth answered most of your questions. Yes I use the software all the time. I'm not sure about the 15+R having the lean angle sensor, I was led to believe only the 1299 models had this, might be wrong.

The 'race kit' has front and rear pressure sensors to be fitted to the master cylinders. Very small and you wouldn't know they have been fitted. Running the new harness takes about an hour and fitting the front and rear telescopic suspension sensors requires some time.

Prosa are hit and miss. I switched from PC to Mac and they sent me an unreleased version of their software so it would work as I was having issues, couldn't be more helpful, another time they never replied.

Hilarious you say its seems like the software is 10 years old....it is. People forget the 1199 was designed in 2007 and released in 2012...its already been superseded twice: 1299 and now V4.

Yes 15+ R has the lean angle sensor both on the dash and as a data channel on the DDA+. It’s pretty useless unless you are comparing runs on the same corners/track. I never look at it.

I have just installed the superstock kit on my 1199 race bike, once i switch the dda to aquire the new data i can no longer view the files and it tells me to contact Ducati to get the full software version....any ideas?

Hi mate,
Sorry for the lat reply, I'm on night shift. Please forgive the questions but i have to ask:
1. Have you reformed the USB to the full data acquisition version? Can only be done on Windows 7 or older PCs.
2. Are you using a PC or a Mac? I had issues with the PC and have a mac version to iron some bugs out that I can send you.
3. Have you tried deleting the Prosa software and reloading again?
4. Have you tried using a different PC?
5. Any chance you could send me a screen shot? "[email protected]"
6. Did you last erase it via a PC or using the bike?

Sorry I can't be much more help that this. It happened to me a long time ago and I can't remember 100% how I fixed it, but I'm pretty sure I ended up erasing it on the bike, started it, recorded data, and when I plugged it in it worked ok.

Get back to me on anything above or how you go?

Cheers

Mark

You have any more of these? I’d swoop it up in an instant. Just looking for the basic DDA + GPS for my 1299
