In my opinion, the answer is a vociferous, "hell no."

I was going to buy a new Hypermotard SP at a Houston-based dealership, and when I got there, they basically increased the price 11% from MSRP with "assembly fees," and other horsesh*t.  So I told them forget it.  He said he could bring it down some, and I said I'm not paying $.01 over MSRP.  So no bike for me.

I mean, good or them if they can sell them for that much.  But I just didn't like how they advertised a price online, then when I got there, the "real" price was 11% higher.  I just find this deceptive and reject any of it out of righteous indignation.

Keep shopping around.  It's the end of the year, and they'll be more willing to move the bikes.  Go on Cycletrader, find the cheapest bike, tell them no fees, and just eat the $600-700 to ship it.  That's the way to go.  There's some dealership out there selling below MSRP right now for whatever it is you're looking at.
