I wanted to ask the group if anyone has ever came off (not on) their bike while wearing a pair of riding jeans.

I just picked up a pair of AGV Corsica Kevlar denim riding pants for a week long trip I'm taking at the end of June. I try to really live by the 'ATGATT' motto and am wondering if I am fooling myself into justifying wearing these for the riding on this trip. I'm order some knee protection for them as well, and I'd like to hear if anyone has any experience with putting these to the test, in terms of abrasion. I know they won't replace my leathers, in terms of safety.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I wasn't really inquiring about what I should have bought.

I was asking if anyone has had an experience where their Kevlar denim was put to the test. And the follow up to that would be ask what weight of denim/Kevlar and if they were wearing any inserts.

But I will definitely keep Sliders brand in mind for the next life when I need a new pair of riding jeans, seeing as though I always wear a 2 piece at minimum.

As long as you have as much Kevlar material on the jeans as possible you should be ok. But be sure to stick to the washing instructions as usually washing them in a machine then tumble drying will break down the Kevlar fibers pre maturely.

AGV helmets and AGV Sport gear are two separate - unrelated - companies.

AGV helmets are owned by Dainese.

Ok I know this and what does that have to do with the price of tea in China. Nobody said anything about agv the company or dainese I said look at other brands besides the big name ones

If you're getting jeans ,you might want to check out Lean Angle jeans.
Full Kevlar liner and knee and hip armor included from Forcefeild.
Can't say how well it's going to survive in a crash but, on paper they seem better built than most of the jeans out there.

"your fooling yourself if you think just cause its agv its better"

I think you're the one that said something about AGV.

I am just making the distinction that the AGV name in this context has nothing to do with the name that is synonymous with the helmet or owned by Dainese.

Don't get your leathers in a ruffle.

I find it amusing that no one has really answered the OPs question.

He didn't ask what brand he should have purchased.

He just wants to know if anyone has had an off while wearing these and how much protection they really afforded.

I personally wear sliders. Knock on wood, but I have not had an "off" on a motorcycle since 1988, so while I feel secure in the knowledge that I have more protection than std denim, I really don't know how well these protect. I hope to never really know... :)

Your posts are completely irrelevant and retarded even in the non-Rossi threads.

To the OP - I crashed at about 40mph in a pair of Drayco riding jeans. They were ruined, of course, but they did their job. I don't think they'd handle much more speed than what I was doing though...

I did not have any additional knee armor.

Here's an idiot question...I thought sliders were the things on the bike sides for their protection so the sliders referenced here; what are we talking about?
