Just wondering if all 500 ended up being sold ? Know they are not due yet for delivery.

You would think that they are all sold but they are not. I tried to get one and spoke to a few dealers and they all said they can get one for me. The moment you talk money they are all on the phone to Italy and three dealers did exactly the same.

I think there are loads available and I have this funny feeling they would not sell all 500 any time soon!

My dealer said no problem getting one but they won't stock it because they have to pay for it. No floor plan on that bike

Two or three dealers here in the UK can still get one if I wanted it too!

I read something somewhere in some motorcycle magazine (I can't remember which one) that the Limited editions will be marked 1-500 but there will be more SL's for sell that are not marked with a number after the first 500. I hope they will be cheaper.

Hmmm that is strange, last thing I heard from my dealer in The Netherlands (spoke him 5 days ago) he told me Ducati is sending some people there deposits back as they have sold more than 500 units.

Some very different information going round if you ask me.
Not sure what to believe, maybe Kope999r can shed some more light on this. Maybe he heard the same in Belgium.

Rumors were afloat that Ducati HQ does not want the SL to be stocked by dealers. Bikes should be sold only to customers. So when they found out that some dealers tried to stock the bike they cancelled the deal.

There was no "stocking" option for SL's for us a dealers, all reservations had to be accompanied by a 20% deposit and the buyer's information. If a dealer wanted to purchase one himself, it had to be put in through the same reservation process and subject to approval in Italy just like every other order. These are numbered bikes, so no one will really know if all 500 are made/sold until someone posts a picture of bike #500!

My dealer sold one last week, & when he put the order through, he was informed that there was only about 11 left world-wide.....

Who really knows....

Pro Italia just announced they have another for sale

Pro-Italia may be trying to help someone get out of their commitment (AKA deposit $) for one and still sell the bike that is scheduled for delivery to their dealership? There's lots of interest in the bike here in Southern California. Ducati Westlake has sold at least 10 as of last time I spoke to them about it...

All 500 are spoken for. But due to a few factors, for example people reneging on their deposits, and depending on your region, your dealer may still be able to get you one. Please don't believe anything about non-numbered additionals being produced after the 500, it's completely untrue.

Just curious how do you know it untrue?

Kind of like the TRI was supposed to be the limited edition/rare one but instead the White turned out to be more rare than the Tri. Im Sure Ducati will probably continue making the bike with the same parts as the SL and probably a different paint scheme and call it something else like "SL Evo" without limited edition numbers on it for 3/4 of the price because of mass production quantities. If there is a demand im sure Audi wont turn downs orders and sales. Hell they need to get their money back for the purchase of Ducati.
