Not sure if this is has been discussed before but I was wonder if there are any differences if you buy the same model in different states. I always hear about California exhaust regulation.

Anyone knows?

50 state bike. we all got our bikes with that crap on it but that can be fixed! :D

Ducati imports 50 state legal bikes. They do not make CA stand alones as some manufacturers......

That is good to know. Thank you guys.

I was curious because I once bought an Aprilia in Germany and my buddy bought the same bike in Italy. The Italy version had a different pipe and gear setup and was overall the much better riding bike.

Germany has TUV certification for their cars, which is a super-strict inspection / compliance process. I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same for motorcycles.

Hey Luke,

Yes, you are right. They do. But it doesn't matter where you buy your car or bike all of them have to go through the TUV before they can be registered. What I think made the difference is that the factory installs different pipes for each country. Once you bring your bike or car to the TUV there are smaller modifications that have to be done. The TUV says that once they are registered both bikes should be the same. From experience I know that is not the case.
