Disconnect Headlight on Race Bike

I'm installing race bodywork (no headlight). I need to know which wires to short at the headlight plug. Can't see instrument panel or start. Anyone know?
 
Why do you need to short out the lights? I just unplugged mine fitted the kit and it worked fine???
