Where it snows forever!
So when I traded my Gixxer in (which was actually a really nice looking white 600 from 2011) I figured I would now be in contention for passers by to also give my baby, in this case Lorenzo, some quality attention.

Nope.

Everywhere my guy and I go, all the love is for his 2009 Monster 1100, who by the way does NOT even have a name and therefore is not worthy of the attention it receives.

I mean yah, they are both Italians and in the "family" but I think Lorenzo is getting a complex.

Anyone else ever have to get some Ducati Performance Therapy?

Cripes, at this rate I'm just glad I didn't spend the extra bones on the Superleggera to be hated on just as much.

LOL:eek:

No ..... really - it's become a joke between us at this point.

Just funny.. I've always thought the sportbikes were sexier. Obviously to each to their own. I mean that's how The Biebs got fame.

My monster gets a bunch of looks and attention from ALL types of people. When I'm on my pani, I mainly get comments/questions from younger dudes who like fast things. To the rest of the people, it just looks like another fancy pants sports bike.

I have both a Monster S4RS and a 1199R. I get more comments on the Monster but the Pani is getting all the riding time these days...go figure:D

Buy the bike for you, not what everyone else thinks. I like to blend in with all the other bikes....

No doubt the Monster has a different look with no fairings and the minimalist approach so obviously going to illicit a response from others. Hell, I'm the one that found it for him when he was bike shopping so I was drawn to it as well.

Obviously my thread start was mostly in jest but was a tad curious to see if any others had noticed anything similar... Especially when with any bike that doesn't fit the normal sportbike vs. cruiser mold as it is different and others have questions

:)

Before the 1199, I had a Monster 796. Black with a red Trellis frame, it looked sweet and I miss that bike to this day. That bike probably got the same amount of attention, but just from different people. As said earlier, the Panigale draws the younger crowd for better or worse. The Monster will attract people who may not know much about motorcycles or would normally ride a standard/cruiser type bike.

Agree 1000%!

I'm fairly certain is because you gave your Panigale a lame name. Ya'll need to stop that. Isn't "Panigale" odd enough already?

My Pani gets more looks than a Lambo. It's comical.

agreed no matter where i go or what bike is there the pani gets the most attentions. even from those ..... harley riders that rev the engine every 3 feet before they actually park and dismount. then over to me. most often asked question. thats a dry clutch. nope wet thats a wet clutch oil aquarium.

second question how much is that bike.

answer if your asking you cant afford it.

Hahah... last bike was Zeus. I like Lorenzo - I think it works fine plus Ima gal so I at least wanted a hot Italian to um, well ya know.

Monster still getting the love but I don't really mind. Maybe because it is in white and not so Ducati obvious. Either way I find myself looking more and more at it in the garage and since I am paying for it I may as well be the biggest fan.

You know, I almost asked why you would name your bike masculine, but as you're a lady it now makes total sense...

IMO, that 2009 Monster 1100 was the best looking Monster ever. If it didn't have a plastic tank, I'd have one in my garage for commuter duties.

Hmm, I think that second reply would say more about you than them (or the price). Hey, if they ask I tell them. What's the big deal?

Someone on here said that the tell people: "I don't know, my girlfriend bought it for me."

Makes people really jealous. I've tried it. People are all like :eek::eek:.

If I'm hopping around nearer Cleveland, I change it up to: "No idea. my baby momma bought it for me."

I might rename my Panigale "Heat Rash", if I ever get the stupid again, ride in shorts and decide to squeeze the tank after traffic.

Heh...i had a teenage guy asked me if I got lots of chicks with my panigale.
He couldn't handlethe truth when I told him.
"It didn't. But it sure is attracting lots of boys"
