DP Akropovic slip on

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Hey guys a little help if possible, I have a 2015 panigale R and wanted to get a slip on. Does anyone know where a good place to get great price/discount on a new Akropovic slip-on ?

hey man,

i just went through this, you can check out my thread on trying to find the best deal for a full system Akra.

unfortunately, the 15+ panigales use a different fastening system from the previous panigales. Instead of the 3 bolt flanges from the 1199s, it uses a circular clamp so none of the aftermarket slip ons made for the 1199 will fit.

Akrapovic slip ons and full systems for 2015+ panigales (base, S, and R's) are all sold exclusively through the dealer now, so you're never going to get a good deal for a slip on for the R since no dealer's going to discount it heavily.

Your best bet is to get the full system for the 1199 (everything fits) and change everything out for only a little bit more than the 15+'s slip on then sell your existing system on the forum like I did to recuperate some of that cost back.

Does it sound as good stuff 15 slip-on? I seen this as low as 4k, have you seen it any lower?

It should sound just as good if not better. I got in touch with a rep from Akrapovic to ask if the piping diameter or routing was any different between the OEM 15+ Akrapovic vs the aftermarket full Akrapovic and she said there were differences.

As for pricing, here's one being sold by the Ducshop, even less if you don't go through eBay with them: Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust Full System Titanium for Ducati 1199 Panigale | eBay

Supposedly the Panigale R stock headers are a little different to better the performance of the 1199 engine, it's a full titanium system but the stock cans are restrictive. The slip on for the R gets rid of the butterfly and basically makes it a full akra system, sounds much better and let's the engine breathe.

Ok I gotcha.. so once you add the slip-on you basically have a full system with the R

I'm not sure if the slip ons for the 1299's come with the y pipe that removes the flapper valve. I could be wrong, but if it's like the 1199 slip ons, then it won't come with it.

The slip ons will remove the cats that are in the stock R's Akra mufflers, but if there's no new Y pipe, then you still have the butterfly valve in the way.

Panigale R headers are stainless. Full DP and Evo systems are titanium.

I said why would you waste your money because if you're going to spend nearly 3k for slipons, may as well spend 3500 and get the full Evo system. The DP system is a ripoff. The 1199 full Evo system fits n works just fine on all the xx99 models.

The slip ons for the 1299 and the Pani R costs $3800, so you can get a full Evo system from the 1199 for less than just the slip on for the 1299/R

There are 2 part numbers for the akra slip on, one for the R that removes the butterfly and another that doesn't. And im.pretry sure the headers on my R are titanium, the first flange off the head is stainless, but everything else is ti, just like the DP full time system I had on my 1299

My understanding is this: The Pani R slip on is nice and preserves rest of the already Ti exhaust. The original system on the R is already a full Ti system, and the specific slip-on deletes the Cat, disables the valve, remapps the ECU operation, adds option for removing dB killers, sounds even bassier than the original Ti system, and is not homologated for road use. The tips look nicer than the stock and carbon fiber is added to the leading edge of the cans.

All correct, except that the original system on the R is not full Ti. The header adapters that bolt to the cylinder heads are stainless steel. I just took it apart, and those 2 adapter pipes are heavy as hell. I didn't weigh them, but each one is heavier than both of the Ti mid pipes from the vertical and horizontal cylinders combined.

The R slip on removes the valves also, not just disables it, I wad told the first flange is stainless like in the SL because of the heat, the ti had issues at that flange for some reason

Is it confirmed the evo akra system that you can find for around 3500 will fit a 2015 1299s? I have yet to see anyone who has done this.

Just put mine on this week. Fits perfect! One DB killer was brutal to get out. But all good now.

Found it for well below $3500 on eBay.
