Sits on top of seat cowl or passenger seat. Back part of bag has a loop that goes over the tail point. And the front has two buckles that wrap under your seat. Easy to install/remove.
Biggest recommendation, as I often use the bag- get the tail covered in 3m plastic and utilize the seat NOT the cowl. The bag will scratch any paint over time. I caught it before it really did damage.

gman74 is correct about the mounting. I didn't see any scratches on the tail when I removed it. If I were to use a tail bag though, I would put some sort of protection on the tail as gman74 suggested.
