General FYI, the DP racing seat shape appears to be different from what you see pictured in your DP catalog (it does however look like the DP show bike).

It's not thin, or like the 1X09 DP neoprene seat but rather appears thicker and taller than stock up front against the tank (as seen in other threads). I ordered one and I don't have a long inseam, it's likely going back if it raises the seating position. The shape looks very similar to the DP Comfort seat.

Compare the mounting hole in relation to the padding height to the catalog item, the stock seat and what I have in hand. Just FYI to those considering this seat. The cover material is a finely textured closed fabric cover over foam, almost ultrasuede in feel but appears more durable. It will take having a stock seat to measure the differences. If any of our European friends have experienced both I'd be interested in your feedback.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, the seat on the right is the one you ordered and have in hand, and you ordered the racing seat. The one on the right is the catalog picture of the racing seat. And you're sure they sent you the right one? That is, they didn't accidentally send you the comfort seat?

There is a massive difference in between the catalog pic and what you received if I'm understanding this correctly.

Edit: The one you received looks like the comfort seat with the racing cover . . . ? The comfort seat has a two fabric cover, IDK.

I confirm this is indeed the racing seat. No mistake here, or all racing seats produced have been produced wrong.

I have the Racing seat, confirmed part number on the seat. Pic on left is catalog image, pic on the right is what I received. Central portion against the tank certainly looks taller and more padded than the stock seat. The logo is white in the catalog piece, thermally embossed on the one I received, which is likely more durable.

its probably thicker at the from to keep you pushed further back in the seat. Don't look as nice as the catalogue picture but i suppose we will have to see what it feels like compared to the standard one

saw it on a bike on saturday, and dont like it compared to the old neoprene seat. i really was looking forward in getting a similar one on the 1199... anyway, still will put it on mine next week, cause its nicer then the standart seat.

i think you may have the wrong seat as well. here is a pic of the race bike on display and you can clearly see the difference in the seat with a white logo. just a thought. :rolleyes:

..... look at the racing seat next to the comfort seat on the table,

interesting heh :confused::confused:

If in interesting you mean "WTF, they nearly look the same", then yes.. very interesting.. :(

If I end up with the same "race seat" as shown, I will be getting my stock seat recovered with a neoprene...

that's exactly the kind of interesting i'm saying.. :D
just saying that its not mixed up labeling nor wrong shipment. LOL

Commonwealth confirmed I have the Race Seat, it looks like the other 9 they have in stock and said the catalog image is wrong. The cover material is not particularly worth hollaring about either. It's going back. Boo.

I don't need more cushioning, I ride roadbike saddles that look like spatulas.
