Just a heads up, mine came off today in the middle of bloody nowhere at 240+, went to change down quickly coming into a set of tight bends and I'm waving my foot in the air, most disconcerting!

So no gear change and stuck 4th gear. Luckily the bike has enough torque and i was on open highways so that I was able to deal with it and get back to base.

Make sure your gear change lever is loctited on! Dealer paying for and installing a replacement.

What else is rattling loose on this bloody thing?

Experienced the same. The other thing that rattles loose is the rear set holding bolt on the right hand side. Mine rattled loose and the spring scrapped the bottom of the fairing, however, the 3M Venture shield saved the fairing from being damaged.

Loctite is needed on both sides of the DP rear sets.

Good to note, will be asking for confirmation on the other side too.

I was thinking it might be worth starting a list if the things that have rattled loose but I'm guessing that if it has a thread then it's possible it will come loose. I won't assume that the dealer does this.

I've had a Harley for 5 years now and nothing has ever rattled off that (that i know of) but I think maybe the duke has the higher vibration frequency - the screws rattled out of both sides of set of sunglasses stored in the rear tail section.

This was a simple mechanical failiure at speed and ultimately it didn't cause an accident but had it been a brake lever or something critical in the wheel/chain it might have been different.

Still love the bike, was an amazing ride up to that point today, just need to get everything checked I think.

Seems to be a "feature"! I spoke to Duc Glasgow Mech, who said that they'd had a couple of bikes do that, and were starting to loctite before sales.
