Any of you FE owners running DP Rearsets? My dealer is prepping my FE right now, and called to say the rearsets interfere with the right side of the heat shield ????? not wanting to hack up a carbon heat shield that much.

Anyone have experience with this?

LOL....... nothings ever EZ

Guess you will have to go back to the stock rearsets and give those away to one of us none FE owners. Lol

Dealer is saying you have to drill a large hole in the shield. and removes the for mounting point? Sounds like a big NO. Holding off on the rear set install till they talk to someone at the factory.

Ya, think someone at the factory would check to see if their $1400.00 accessory fits ?????

SEE........ Should have bought the SL. This wouldn't have been an issue.

I saw on youtube a dealer fitting them to the FE, search for that they fitted prompting me to have the idea to fit some to my SL

Thanks. I've watched that video about 100x waiting for this bike to arrive. Refered that video to my dealer when they said there was a fitment issue.
Really suprised the factory didn't address this.....

If you have a FE with DP's, can you post some pics where you modified your heat shield? Appreciate it. Thanks.

I have the SL and want GP shift, hence why I got interested but these guys seamed to fit them, so what are we missing here?

I had a look and my heat shield is different, the mounting part that bolts to the reat set is lower, its in line with the bottom plate rivet.

Is your SL a 14 or 17?

2014 is a cake walk. If u have a 17, you may need to modify the heat shield?

This is the area that needs to be modified. Behind the mount from the upper heal guard to the shield.
The brake plunger mounts higher with the DP Rearsets. Even set up on the lower setting.

Wow its crazy that you have to modify the FE shield for the DP Rearsets to fit. Ducati should have a "kit" just for the FE thats to be included with the rearsets.

A big design and engineering oops if they overlooked this detail!

This is what you need to mount the right heal guard to the heat shield when installing the DP rearsets. You can make it out of 2mm thick alum. No cutting required when using the lower peg position

Thanks for the diagram. Are there more measurements and pics I can pass on the my dealer?

Are those heel guard bolts Titanium? They were on the 2014 SL.
