How much does it hold for stuff?... Can you put a pair of shoes in there? Maybe a 1 day trip kinda bag?

8 liter capacity (expansion zippered gusset to increase capacity). It can contain necessary things for short trips (shoes, 1 t-shirt and 1 pant).
