I got a good deal on a set of DP Rearsets for my 2014, so I have these (extra) I pulled off my 2012. They've been on the bike for a few thousand miles and were way better than the Gilles pegs I originally had. However, like both the Gilles and the DP rearsets, there were issues with clearance. Two, as a matter of fact, with the Ducabike's:

1) The shift-rod nut contacted the swingarm when I put the bike into rain mode (it was raining), marring my swingarm and preventing the shift-lever from returning to its normal position. I replaced the nut with a thinner one, but the mark on the swingarm had already by made.

2) The inside of the main structural part of the shift side rearset contacted the swingarm, too, only under full extension (eg stoppie). There's a small divot machined into the Ducabike parts to give it extra clearance, but it isn't enough. I filed out the spot to increase clearance, but again, mark had already been made. I contacted Ducabike about this and they blamed the swingarm tolerances. Yeah, sure.

In short, I fixed both the issues, but still, unacceptable for a $900 set of rearsets.

Pics of added clearance:

(silver spots on the rearsets are aluminum dust, not scratches or dings). Only a sliver of the silver part I 'machined' out is apparent once installed.

Overall, the Ducabikes are probably one of the best rearsets out there, with a wide array of adjustability. But I'm amazed at how few test their products. Clearly they just bolted this on (if that) one bike, said, 'looks good' and then boxed 'em up without running the bike through real world conditions.

$550 I think is a very fair price--and for $25 more I'll include my used carbon heel guards ($69 off of ebay, minor scuffing/wear marks).

Wait a tic, did I sleep past this news? I thought Ducati repaired your 2012 with new rings and pistons? What is this 2014 you speak of?
