Hey guys. Put on my ducabike rearsets and i have a lot of slop in the gear shifter. Everything is nice and tight but it still moves around quite a bit. I even added washers and it didnt help. Also, changing gears is really difficult almost like the linkages stick. Any ideas anyone can think of? Thanks in advance!

I would check with Gunny Fitz since he has these installed on his Tri. He usually has the inside scoop for Ducabike stuff.

Yahoo

Hey there.
Been trying to reply to ya from my Yahoo account but having some odd issues. Maybe its the virus that infected this forum?

On the Duca's it sounds like a different issue from what I had. I could not even shift the lever either direction which was eventually cleared up by the company with addition of another piece. To me it sounds like yours was put on wrong somehow, did your dealer mount them? All I can tell ya is maybe take em off and start over - call Lyle at the shop since he was my go between with Ducabike to get the issue resolved. Who knows, maybe you ended up getting an older gen set that needs the part I got or something. At a loss for words on this and wish I could help ya out. It doesnt help I can see the issue as well.

Since mine have been corrected I have not had any issues at all,nor has Mark from NYC who got them in silver. See what Lyle can tell ya this week and perhaps send some photos to show where the play is too. Keep the thread posted if you would please?

Not one issue with the rear sets. I have them set up motogp too reverse quick shift the whole 9 yards. biggest problem is the pegs are so sticky with new boots or maybe thats normal and i was use to the icicles the original rearsets had as pegs.

Only issue I had was with the shifter pivot bolt. If its to tight, the shifter can bind and it will eventually back itself out. Happened to me and stranded me till the dealer came and bailed me out. Now I have left the pivot looser with threadlock and all is well

Mine lost a bolt on the motorway on the way back from being installed. No Loctite blue applied [whole other thread on that.....]. They were a little stiff at first but they are broken in now.

Same thing happened to mine.

Sure they look good but they are poorly engineered IMO.

Do what I did, buy something else, there is much better out there!

I got them for my passenger pegs! Considering they are never used or will be, they look great! I have Lightechs of the front.

Hey Gunny, is the pivot bolt tight on your Duca shifter or is it just hand tight(snug) with locktite. What piece was added to your set up?
