Hi friends, anyone know if exist the race camshafts to Ducati 1299, if so where do I find them?

The cams of the 1199 are the same of the 1299 ???

For the installation of these race cams, it is necessary to change the valves (for other races) or not, it is necessary a reworking (preparatin) the cylinder heads ???

Thank you, Claudio.

Riki, cams its the same part!!!

Panigale R 2013/14/15/16/17 is 1199, dont exist 1299!!

Thanx, man.

You have the option to get the camshafts from the 1299 Superleggera and the 1299R Final Edition (which does exist), and you should be able to order them from a Ducati dealer. If you are going to install them in a normal 1299 engine, you should probably get a reputable engine builder to prep the rest of the engine to match :)

The 1299 Superleggera camshafts are available, they are right at $4,000 USD for the set of 4.

Ducati 1299 race cams

So I have a set of RS cams going in to my 1299 in the next couple of weeks, apparently these are not available to the general public so you would not find them on any parts list.

These are out of a BSB and i think i am lucky to get them :)

the SL cams would proly be cheaper lol

I had a chat with the mechanic for TB21 ASBK bike and he was saying that they were still using the OEM 1299 FE cams but they played around with the timing (when they went from the Akra's to the tail exit termi's) and saw "really nice gain" from that.

Probably not now the V2 is finished in BSB, will be a lot of interesting yummy bits up for grabs from the race teams soon. At least interesting for lovers of the old girls

....... hell, I paid way less than that for racing cams for my old Skyline GT-R; the cams were good for 800+hp.

I haven't ridden a 1299 Superleggera so I've no idea how the power delivery differs, but cam profiles (how long they stay open) is a game of give and take. Gaining top end sacrifices something on the lower end - either power, or drivability, something. Hence the years of variable valve timing technology used by various manufacturers.

I wouldn't personally swap my cams unless I was setting my bike up for track/race use only, and I mean ONLY.

Tangential note: when I test rode the '15 Multistrada with DVT variable valve timing, I noted that it smoothed out the power delivery compared to my '14 Multi. It felt like a BMW. I really wanted to upgrade so that I'd have the same electronics suite as I have on my Panigale, but I didn't like how the DVT took away the raw growling torque monster inside the Testastretta motor...already neutered with the 11 degree camshafts, but just enough left to be reminiscent of the wild 1198 superbike motor. DVT erased all traces of that. Boo.

Those are the RS16 spec cams, no? The F18 ones are significantly different to those..
