Looking for some Ducati experts here..

Rear end went out on me on an on ramp (oily deck) 10 mph slide. Right side handle bar is broken, clutch cover cracked, leaked all oil out. My main concern is the engine ran for a few minutes before it auto shut off :-( thankfully it auto shut off and it was in fact an auto shut off. My right sight rear set broke off.

Here are my questions:

1. Did the bike see no oil and it shut off? Or did I ruin something and it killed itself? Definitely gonna get it checked out at a dealership here in San Diego.
2. Best store for parts? Aftermarket preferably. Not looking for stock stuff straight from Ducati, don't wanna pay those prices.

I had a same crash with my gxsr, the duc made that bike seem like it was bulletproof! Nothing broke haha.

10mphs crash did all that damage? woah. I've seen track crash going 80mph did less damage.

Many years ago I lost the front going around 40 and did much less damage as well.

try Ducabike for case. There are plenty of option for bars and rearsets.

I think the way it slammed, it came out quick and dropped real hard. My hip is pretty bruised.

The bike should have a tip over sensor (Mercury switch) at a certain angle the switch activates and after a set amount of time, usually 5-10 seconds, it will cut the engine to protect it from oil starvation. Your engine is fine.

Awesome!!! Thank you for that answer. It could of been a few seconds, the landing kind of shook me up.

Try Ducati Online Parts from Ebay. They're based in the Netherlands and sell OEM parts. They also source directly from Ducati in Italy.

I've used them a few times.

You crashed a previous bike in the same manner? Stay off on ramps, and frame and fork sliders may benifit you immensely.

I'll be at The Ridge next Sunday/Monday and have stock rearsets if you want to purchase...and assorted other parts as I've mod'd by bikes.... In SEA for a few hours Saturday afternoon-

I believe panigales don't have a tip over sensor, videos on youtube with them staying on.

if its an 1199 or 899 pm me.. I am parting out a bunch of stock stuff.. turned mine into a racebike

I hope it has a tip over sensor... but anyways, it will be checked out by Ducati service tech. After slamming pretty hard, hard to tell how long it ran, I remember it shutting off all by itself though.

Mat I will be arriving at the ridge late Sunday afternoon and camping out for Monday. See you there.

As far as I can tell from the 2 times my bike has been on its side, there is no tip over sensor. I turned the bike off myself. (They were slow speed)
