Hi everyone,
I'm picking up a '19 V4R this weekend and the dealer is offering me the Ducati Ever Red extended warranty option at the following price points.
1 Year of EverRed Warranty: $770 +TAX
2 Years of EverRed Warranty: $1060 +TAX
3 Years of EverRed Warranty: $1560 +TAX

This will be my 6th Duc and I've never purchased an extended warranty before, as I've generally seen them as a cash grab for whomever is offering it. Ive found a limited number of reviews for this program online and they range from "I'm glad I purchased it" to "My claim was denied simply because I added an aftermarket slip-on."
Does anyone have any experience with the Ever Red program and have any feedback or recommendations for me regarding their experience and the pricing I was quoted? Any feedack would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hey there man!
thanks for your service! Navy man here...

I's say if you gonna leave stock, then get the warranty for sure. If anything is not stock now, get them to acknowledge they will cover any issues that come up in writing now.

I would 100% get a warranty if I could.

Take care,
JAG

Likewise, brother!
Thanks for the input.

I suppose my hesitation is also born from the fact that I like to add a nice slip on to each of my bikes and perform the UpMap. Ugh....

If your mods aren't related to or caused the thing to break, what's the problem?

That is what I’m thinking as well. I just read about and talked to a person who said their claim on an unrelated system (forks) was denied due to him installing an aftermarket exhaust.

That is hilarious. Not for the bike owner but the fact that the dealer got away with that because one has absolute .... to do with the other.

That is a complete rip-off. I had western on my 2013 panigale at the time of purchase (not sure if they're still in the game or not) and my 5yr was $600. This gave me 7yrs total. Had a few claims with them over the years and never had an issue. I'm sure there has to be better options than ever red. At those prices, I'd take my chance n deal with whatever comes up. Highly doubt you'll have over 700 a year in warranty issues. That's just insanely overpriced, even with today's inflation.
My bike has a lot of bolt on mods, including full akra exhaust and upmap. In the 4 or so warranty issues i had, never once was there a mention of any of my mods. Gasket leak, bad map sensor, marzocchi fork seals blown n replaced with a new set of forks (b4 i just went full ohlins). If you have a warranty claim they're trying to deny, they would have to prove your part caused the problem. If your reservoir leaked brake fluid, they can't deny a claim just because you have an exhaust on your bike. You throw a rod, that's a different story.

I know, right? He was told "Be glad it's only this claim being denied and not the entire warranty, because we can do that."
I wouldn't have believed his story if I didn't know him personally and knew he was not an embellisher. He tried the whole Magnuson-Moss Act angle with them, but they claim that the Ever Red program is different and the Act does not apply. He's pleading with Ducati N.A. currently to assist.
Maybe it sometimes comes down to the Dealership one is working with? I dont know...

I want the warranty for peace of mind. I'm just super hesitant in case I have the same experience.

It's a Ducati. What could go wrong? Hahahahaha. Buy the warranty and rest easy (and find a good lawyer to have on standby, lol). Aftermarket parts are not an issue if they don't contribute to the fault. The lawyer is to help convince Ducati that a license plate cover did not cause a timing belt/chain failure.

Might be worth having your friend submit an FTC complaint (they’re the ones regulating the MMA) Report Fraud or bring the issue up to his state AG (they’re the ones that enforce fair business practices).

I reported a shady customs charge from FedEx that the CFPB went to bat for me and resolved

I will surely suggest that to him today! Many thanks!
