Ducati gear change issue

Hi guys Neil from New Zealand here,

bought a new Ducati 959 V2 couple months back, and I’ve just started to push it after running it in. When I push it pretty hard, using the quick shifter, from 5th to 6th gear it doesn’t seem to engage properly and revs its head off and I have to manually use the clutch and then change gear. Almost as if it’s jamming between gears.

Has anyone else come across a similar issue? The local dealer seems to be dragging the chain to sort it out.

Cheers,

Neil from NZ

I had similar issues, mainly on track when shifting hard from 6th down, it would get stuck in 6th or 4th.
I changed gear shift sensor and quickshifter but no luck. I had the rizoma DP rearset and my mechanic suggested changing to OEM. Problem solved. Now I have the Spider rearset with no issues.

My bike did something similar once. Clicked high (wot) and it was in high for a second then it went back into 5th. Obviously hard into the limiter and way over reved. I was not happy. Original owner had installed Ducti billet rear sets so I’m not sure this will help you with the OEM ones but I just lowered the position of the lever a lil and it never did it again. Hope you figure it out. We might not have coil valve springs and our motors really can’t float a valve and have it contact piston but think about what is happening to your connecting rods! Yikes...

Happened to me a couple of times , I think it was more likely rider error not engaging the lever properly with a good firm change .
Im running DP rear sets with race shift on 1199 .

Picked up my SFV4 last week and I have been experiencing the same issue shifting from 5th to 6th. Any more info on this issue?

Maybe they need to do a CR200 recall for yer streetfighter

maybe they need to put it on the bench and reset and relearn DQS & GPS

take it to the official Duc service center, they will fix
