Hi Folks,

I just wanted to mention that the Ducati Alarm system is now shipping and available (certainly in the USA). Contrary to what I have seen posted, the installation of the Alarm system is well documented and included in the package. The alarm appears very well made, while installation is somewhat non trivial.

Picture attached.

Trust this helps.

Great profile picture :D:D

Reasons I perfectly understand ; had myself second thoughts about it after posting.
Wanna still privately send it in ? I wanna buy one myself, but wanna know if worth the invest or not.

CaliDuc love the profile pic cracks me up. Did you install the alarm yourself? was it easy to do?

Braintrash, could I suggest that you private message me an email that I can send a photograph/scan of the Alarm instructions privately too ?.

In my own personal opinion .. if one is spending $30+K on a bike, a $300+ dollar alarm specifically designed for the bike by the bike manufacturer is a no brainer.

Hi TheWaxer, or should that be Waxer ?

Glad you like the avatar .. all loved up :)

I have not installed the alarm on the bike. However, based on the information at hand and physical inspection of the Alarm and components thereof, I can deduce that it is a "hand in the glove" installation .. aka .. good piece of equipment that bears the hallmarks of good design and integrated installation.

I said same thing when I bought the rlink with GPS tracking from Scorpio for my 1198 SP and now trying to install it on PANIGALE TRI, but there is no room where to put it.. or the light plug & play needs update.. This alarm would be better if it had GPS tracking (Ducati Alarm)

if someone steals my bike.......i dont want it back!!.....give me a new one

Indeed! That's why we have insurance, although I was thinking about grabbing the alarm but, no discount on the insurance because it doesn't have a gps tracking option....

Other than a Ducati Alarm system, I will also add a LowJack tracking device. Even with the BEST insurance, you never get compensated for all the hassle of getting a replacement bike. Any insurance claim for whatever reason, ultimately racks up higher fees down the line. Considering the amount of DP accessories I have, if the bike gets stolen I want to know that I have tried everything that I can to recover the bike and catch the thief(s). Money is not my issue, time and hassle avoidance are my priorities.

Make sure you use your battery tender every night. Alarms will drain your batt fast. And the Panigale is already rumored to have a underpowered battery. Getting stranded , or having to push start would suck on a brand new bike ! Looks like the Duc alarm is plug and play. Sometimes just a little alarm noise is enough to keep your bike from getting boosted. I like to use an alarm and a disc lock.
