Thought it might be good for a thread for people to share their experiences on fitting DP parts to their bikes.

I did the first three today, carbon heel guards (2 minutes), carbon hugger (20 minutes due to the recessed screw!) and finally clutch cover (30 mins after deciding not to take off the entire lower fairing, i just took off the brake pedal and then took out three of the fairing screws which allowed enough room to slide a small spanner it. did it on the side stand so as to avoid oil leaks). Oh also put the paddock stand together, not as bad as previously mentioned on here but you do have to put it on its side and put pressure on it to get the two bolts through to bolt the two parts together.

other stuff on order: 70 mm exhaust manifold (in stock with ducati), tail tidy (no stock until June), carbon shock cover (on back order until September!!), gel race seat & high screen (both in stock) (UK Thats is).

Needs a chain upgrade too, the stock one is rubbish (PS anyone else noticed how slack the chain is? or is it just mine??)

Dealer also told me today that new owners are advised to keep an eye on their oil level every 180 miles before the first service, apparently they go through a bit at first). Any fully Synth 10/40 was fine he said.

It's strange. I ordered the tail tidy, hugger, heel guards, windscreen & shock cover. They had all in stock except the hugger, which will be in next week. I'm in the US though. You may want to check around.

The UK dealer says they have just had a new Web based order system for Ducati and they have had a few teething problems, so I'm kind of hoping it's that. Not too bothered about the shock cover but the manifold and tail tidy I'd rather get sooner than later. Like you say I should give a few dealers a call. Thanks.

My dealer has got the tail tidy, carbon guard for the shock and all the rest of the DP parts.
The only item i could not get was the rearsets and carbon key surround.

Just bought the heel guards, shock cover, clutch cover, rear hugger, swingarm cover, and tall/tinted windscreen today. Waiting to buy the full termi system and race seat for when my bike comes in next week, also purchasing the sprocket cover as soon as my dealership gets it in stock. I will be having the dealership install the termis and I will most likely do the rest.

Sounds like you basically looked at the menu said "one of each please." Nice.;)

Haha almost... Would have liked to get the fender eliminator too but I think it looks like crap. Most likely will fabricate my own that is as simple and little as possible.

Interesting. If the oil usage is due to smoking/bedding in then wouldn't they want to be recommending a mineral oil rather than synthetic for first 1,000kms ?

I believe that is what my Ducs used before the 600 mile service/oil change as well.

I have the Race Seat, Carbon Shock Cover, Rear Hugger, Swing Arm Cover, Tank Protector, Bike Cover, Tail Tidy and Heel Guards .. Alarm should be here by 16th May. i intend to get all the DP accessories and parts.

Hi Deano, which dealer is it? I might try them for the tail tidy and shock cover.
Ps was the tail tidy straightforward to fit or did the dealer do it?

Cheers.

Ps anyone had a DDA supplied with their bike yet? Mines still missing.

Nope, they're on back-order.

Apparently, DMH will be shipping them direct to the address where your warranty is registered.

I am waiting for the confort pilot seat carbon protection for the swinging arm and suspension.
Carbon hugger, tank protection, high screen fitted when I picked up the bike.

My dealer is also having problems with the new ordering system can't tell me when for any of the items that I am waiting for.
I will leave the exhasts as stock otherwise I will be waking up the whole dam village :) it bad enough as it is

I just noticed that mine must have not been installed on my tri?? Dealer never said anything about it...

Does anyone know a dealership with the carbon sprocket cover in stock?

Here are some pics of my bike in the process of installing DP carbon parts and full termis, goes on the dyno tomorrow morning.

Does anyone know I'd the DP carbon part that covers the exhaust manifold under the seat will reduce the heat at all over the stick plastic part?
Thanks
