That's a good read. Personally I think they're ugly and are not really necessary but what do I know about aerodynamics, cooling, down force, etc, etc... I know the article said Yamaha tried some of these "wings" out last year but they weren't as big. Yamaha and Honda both seem to be doing fine in Moto GP without them. I would have to agree with one of the posts after the article that it isn't the widest part of the bike so it shouldn't be a big deal. We'll have to wait and see what Dorna has to say about these strakes. They're still ugly though but sometimes racing isn't always about being pretty. Maybe they have a real advantage to them. I would guess Ducati did their homework and has found some advantages to them. Did I mention that they're ugly??
