I got the fairings you shipped and I'm disappointed. You told me the fairings were in new condition. They are not in new condition. Besides the few marks and imperfections in the paint, the front fairing also has JB weld holding the main front mounting bracket on for the front fairing, the right side fairing has a broken tab, the windscreen is scratched up and the front fairing stay is missing the trim surround that I specifically asked about. It’s possible you didn’t see the paint imperfections, or maybe the scratched windscreen, and maybe the tab on the fairing broke in shipment(because you stuffed all the fairings into a box far too small for the parts with no padding besides a few pieces of paper inside, but you definitely knew that the front fairing was previously damaged and cheaply repaired, so not “new” as you stated, but yet you still told me it was and sold it to me as “new”...
Hope you purchased through PayPal with the 'Goods & Services' option. I NEVER purchase items from forums without this service option. I've already had 2 situations where my packages were lost in transit. And I had a damaged part come. PayPal will protect buyer as long as you have evidence to prove there were damages prior to receiving it.
Dang! I saw your original picture showing the fairings as "V4 S", and other guys with the box in background didn't have an "S"
This guy is lying I do not own V4 parts as he is claiming I sold him. I own a V4S and the fairings that were sent were for a V4S (please see link on the parts he verified he was receiving.. As far as the JB weld on the front nose, I was not aware of that as the part was already like that when received from Ducati OKC. He also claims that there was a broken tab, When everything shipped out it was in 100% working order. Just to let people know the picture he is posting is for V4 fairing, he was involved in a motorcycle accident, so the part he is posting is the part that he wrecked. Please see all messages that were sent between him and I. also click on the link that shows pictures of parts shipped in which he verified in the messages. This guy is trying to get free parts from me I even through in the windscreen for no charge.
Your misleading people to think you got that cracked fairing.. who cares about a box as long as the parts are ok.. be very clear about what your posting as you are damaging people's reputation..
For one, I wouldn't deal with any of you guys.
Buyer
You ask for so much! If I was the seller I would've told you "Forget it! If you found good prices on eBay, then buy your stuff there." When a potential buyer starts asking me for more pictures or asks me to continue giving explanations, that's an immediate red flag for me. I've been selling parts online since Craigslist started (yes, I'm 'old' and I live in SF Bay Area) and I know people to watch out for. You also mentioned in a response to my post that the seller was "persuading" you to get the "Friends & Family" service. Yet, after reading those screen shots, seller clearly gave you that as an option to not have to eat the additional 4% fees that Paypal charges the seller.
Seller
As transparent as you were posting screenshots of your convo, it clearly shows that everything the buyer had asked for (pics and assurances) your responses were 1 liners. You clearly told buyer that if he sent payment to you that evening on 4/29 (Wednesday), that you would send the package out by end of week--"I can get it shipped out this week as long as it paid by this evening." And in your screenshot, you also confirmed on the same day that you had received payment. You offered no updates to buyer that you were looking for a box until he contacted you again on 5/4 (5 days later). Then, on 5/6 you stated that you would ship the package out next day on 5/7--that's already over a week from the date payment was sent. So, you also breached your verbal agreement.
If I was in either shoes in this transaction, I would have walked away! Buyer clearly had a lot of trust issues and doubts. And the seller clearly was annoyed and stopped responding after payment was received. I would have cancelled payment to seller the moment that he said he was looking for another box. That's 1 of the advantage of using the 'Goods & Services' option.
My question to buyer is, why are you "referencing" pictures of your damaged fairings? The entire point to make other members aware here is to be accurate. You want to display all the issues with the parts you PURCHASED, not the parts that YOU OWN.
Good luck to you both!
All the pictures I posted were of the fairings he sent me. The only picture that is not his fairing is the one with the box in it, which is my broken V4 fairing in front of the box he shipped me before it was opened*. This was a reference shot to show the size of the fairings squeezed into the box he used.

If true, it would've been to your benefit to just post the picture of the box he sent you. In the screenshots he said he was looking for a 50" box. So, it would've been beneficial to just take a picture of the box with tape measurements showing that it wasn't clearly a 50" box.
You also stated there were a lot of issues with the paint (i.e. swirl marks and scratches), but us members are not seeing any of that. We only saw a fairing with JB weld and a broken tab. So what you're detailing as huge issues are not being depicted in the pictures you've sent.
In any case, it's pretty obvious that you both are trying to be persuasive to the other members because a lot of your posts have been edited in the past few hours lol.
You have also already confirmed the issues that I brought up. You acknowledged the JB welded front fairing, the swirl marks in the paint and that the side fairing tab must have been broken in shipping, probably because you knew how you folded the fairings in half to shove into the box with no padding, other than plastic wrap.
