Back in the day, after a bit of reading, I chose to have a professional break in my new 1199 Panigale on the dyno. Took all day but cost me only $300. The Dynojet graph at the end of the day showed 177.xx HP to the wheel. I could do small power wheelies shifting into third* at WOT/WFO.
I thought this was normal drivetrain loss, but I saw Sport Rider mag dyno an R model (supposedly came with 10 HP more) at 152 RWHP. One dyno to the next will differ in readings, sure; I can't help but wonder if my dyno break-in gave my bike superpowers, and if the same will happen with the next new bike I buy.
Would like to hear your stories.
* Uphill, heh
