So I'm at the tuner with my 1299. He unscrewed the speed sensor from the rear wheel but the bike still stops at 10k RPM. Does it have to be completely unplugged??
I'm also interested in how the Dyno goes...
Thinking of getting the 1299 and wasn't sure wether to go full system or slip on...
Let us know how she fares?
Cheers
my general thoughts are that at this time, it's not cost effective to do a full system, because the 1299 stock pipe diameter and overall design is more or less identical to the Akrapovic system, but 2.5lbs heavier. Unless someone comes up with giant headers that are 1299-specific, or if a wild and crazy set of WSBK pipes that are much longer than stock becomes available, I probably won't swap out the stock pipes. I can think of more interesting ways to cut 2.5lbs off the weight of the bike.
I will post all graphs and numbers once we get the final tune done, for certain!
Hahaha that's funny...
I also think it's uber sexy... Prob just get the slip on for that slightly deeper note!!!! Thanks for the great notes guys and once I get mine I'll give some feedback as well... Another thing I noticed that the base model doesn't have a steering dampener? Is that the case? Can one be put on this model?
