So I'm at the tuner with my 1299. He unscrewed the speed sensor from the rear wheel but the bike still stops at 10k RPM. Does it have to be completely unplugged??

I'm also interested in how the Dyno goes...
Thinking of getting the 1299 and wasn't sure wether to go full system or slip on...
Let us know how she fares?
Cheers

my general thoughts are that at this time, it's not cost effective to do a full system, because the 1299 stock pipe diameter and overall design is more or less identical to the Akrapovic system, but 2.5lbs heavier. Unless someone comes up with giant headers that are 1299-specific, or if a wild and crazy set of WSBK pipes that are much longer than stock becomes available, I probably won't swap out the stock pipes. I can think of more interesting ways to cut 2.5lbs off the weight of the bike.

I will post all graphs and numbers once we get the final tune done, for certain!

I'll have to agree with you there. In the real world there is no justification to spend this much money into exhaust. No power, weight, heat or any other technical reason to do it.

Having said that, still after 4 months, welds alone in an Akra exhaust look so trick n sexy, that I almost want to lick it.

Hahaha that's funny...
I also think it's uber sexy... Prob just get the slip on for that slightly deeper note!!!! Thanks for the great notes guys and once I get mine I'll give some feedback as well... Another thing I noticed that the base model doesn't have a steering dampener? Is that the case? Can one be put on this model?

Seriously? They put out a Superbike with no damper? Hell, even almost all Middleweight bikes come with a damper.

Are you sure somebody didn't steal it?

It does have one .Its not a great one but it's there .

hell yeah titanium is sexy. I'm just focusing my early tuning dollars on performance. except for carbon fiber. you can never buy too much carbon fiber.

That carbon shield also comes with a full titanium exhaust and god knows I din't pay anywhere near $5K for that system, it was actually less than what the Akra slip-ons cost
Just had to wait for a good deal, they're out there....

Used? Cuz there's no way a full even at a discount cost you less than a slipon at full retail price.

I couldn't pay $5k for a system that can be purchased for $3500. Okay so no DP upmap and no fancy ducati logo on my cans. Same exact exhaust otherwise. That $1500 can be spent on rb race, gearing upgrade and be done with it.

$3300!
