Has anyone here used the E4S paddock stand and does the fairing have to be trimmed in order to use it. I saw the Bursig paddock stand and it was $549.99 for the black one while the E4S is $229.99. I know people will say you get what you pay for. I dont skimp on quality parts for any of my bikes. But is there a huge difference in quality between the E4S and Bursig. If Im not mistaken the Bursig is made in Germany and imported here into the US. I know the quality of German made products. But just wanted some input.

the bursig stand is well made, strong enough, and works as it says - the swap from 1 bike to another is cumbersome, so its better as a dedicated stand - the other brands i wouldn't know

the bursig allows real mobility, and its almost too funny how it is so easy to move around - you wouldn't be disappointed, but the setup "getting it just right" takes a bit of time initially....afterwards though, it is worth it

I agree with 16RR I have 3 bursig stands for my bikes and it makes it a breeze to move the bikes around in a tight garage especially with a car blocking half of it. as for the other stand i dont have an input=) but like you said, you get what you pay for.

Forget about the bursig. Overpriced and you have to modify your fairings.

ConStands - High quality paddock stands and accessories

I have their center stand and it works the same. Benefit is no cutting of fairings at all and it is half the price. It comes in a couple of different colors and if you're lazy, they even have a motorized option as well for a tad bit more money. Much better deal however you slice it. You can look up their youtube video n see how easy it is to use. If you have multiple bikes, you can buy different mounting plates and use the same stand to move bikes around.

+1

This is by far one of the best, if not the best, center lift stands out there. You can see how well made it is compared to others where they have like a box section for the wheels these are solid machined legs.

The question is, what are you really going to trust your baby with?

I've never heard of ConStands, but it looks like a good product. Based on experience I can only recommend the Bursig...it's very well made.

Years back I bought the cheap version and regretted it big time. I've had a Bursig for a long time now and used it on my last three bikes.

You do have to notch the fairing for it to work on the 1299 but I didn't see this as a big deal. 5 minutes with a dremmel and some touch up paint and nobody is ever going to notice that.

All I can say is that in my experience it's quite true that you get what you pay for. Too many times I've tried to save money by going cheap and it only cost me more in the long run.

No need to cut anything with the ConStands version

I'm wondering how the bike is lifted? What is the adapter plate inserting into?

EDIT: I see now....they utilize the rear shock linkage instead. Nice solution!

Assuming the build quality is as robust and sturdy as Bursig, this would be a no brainer.

I was very sceptical of the way it was mounted at first, whether to trust it etc. It's been fine with no issue, but what I did do, just personally for peace of mind, was to have a velcro strap to hold the bike on to that stand. Probably a bit of overkill.

Anyways, to help make up your mind and cover what I'm trying to explain I've found this:

wow thats a lot of extra pieces to install O_O. the bursig is just a single pin and trim the fairing

Yeah--pros and cons to both. I still personally prefer the Bursig. This is the mall notch you have to create. Takes 60 seconds with a dremel.

It is, but it was simple enough for my skill level and I torqued the bolts to specification rather than guessing.

You also won't get the Bursig to fit a Panigale R or if you have the adjustable swing arm pivot as the pin on the bursig slides in here. In a way the ConStands was my only option.

The ConStands webpage warns that it may not fit if the footrests are not OEM. Can you maybe post a photo showing where it can get too tight? I want to order one but not risk that I will not be able to use it...

Sorry, I'm currently sat on an oil rig! I can't take any pictures just now

My 1199 has aftermarket rearsets and the constands works without any clearance issues.

The great thing about the constands is whenever you sell your current bike, all you have to do is buy the adapter plate for your new bike model and you can use the same stand again. Basically it is good for life, unless you're like me and have more than 1 bike. I've gotta pick up a red one for my dragster. Maybe I'll try out the powered center stand this time.

Side note.....these have dropped in price quite a bit since I purchased mine for the 1199. They used to be about $100 more than they are now. Basically cheaper than having front n rear pitpull paddock stands. No brainer for sure.

The ability to use the stands on any bike model is pretty much standard regardless of the brand. Bursig is the same and so are the cheap ones too--you just have to fork the money for an adapter plate.

One thing to keep in mind is that these things are not a full replacement for paddock stands. If your bike is mounted on the lift stand you're limited in what you can do on the left side of the bike in terms of maintenance/DIY jobs. I only use mine for garage storage as it makes it really easy to move the bike around and get it into tight spaces without trouble.
