Hello there,

Has anyone run their 1199 without the exhaust cover on, and what effects has this resulted in? i.e. burnt legs, burnt plastics etc.

Thanks in advance.
Lee

hi, i just wrapped mine with the DEI titanium wrap (doubled up the wrap) and ran the bike for 30 mins last night, engine temp got to 212 and no more. It was about 30 degrees out. I wore shorts and sat on the bike, heat still emanates but is bearable. Taking the bike for a longer ride tomorrow. If the heat is bearable, i'm not putting the heat shield back on.

have the same wrap, but abblied it back in june. took it for a testride in shorts at around 90F. it was horrible. no heat shield? no way.

no recommended. Even with the wrap, It got close to 500 F degrees

ok, rode with only the wrap to dealership and back on Saturday (outside tems ranged from 32-45 degrees F). Exhaust got hot, a heat shield is def needed.
