Never had one before and waited till after the service and pipes installed to unleash it.

Seamless shifts with it above 8K RPMs... Great exhaust pop at and above that range when shifting!

Little hitch in the transition below 6500

Totally digging it at the upper RPMS. Not practical below that range, though.

I like my new toy!:D

I never had a quick shifter on a bike before and I think it is so cool. I find it works just fine at lower speeds too (except for the 1-2 shift) if you physically shift slower or more relaxed. None the less, the DQS is pretty awesome!

So it works well only when aggressive shifting and going for it? I would be surprised if it will work smoothly on slower speeds. (still waiting for my tri obviously).

it works fine at lower speeds 3k up
as long as you have gas on a bit - low rpm short shift - pop-pop-pop
= awsom :D:D

I took my Speed Triple out on Sunday (have been neglecting her since Coco arrived on the seen), and I found myself going for a quick-shifter that wasn't there. It took a few times of bouncing off the rev-limiter that day before I stopped doing it. I must admit, once you've tasted the goods, a quick-shifter becomes a must have.

Man, are we performance motorcycle enthusiasts a bunch of privileged .......s these days. I love it.

Gunny: yes, that's her name. she's one of the sisters of BELLA, which is my lil girl to play with

The DQS is still my most favorite gimmick on the bike..

DQS is awesome.....and probably the most useful electronic feature on the bike IMO if you are not racing. And it works well at any speed.

Same as you guys, my first quick shifter and loving it. Waited till after first service to use it, so clutch could also bed in.

DQS = + many !

I am a little puzzled why you guys waited so long before using this awesome function of the bike? Are dealers out there advising people NOT to use the DQS? Very strange. There is no evidence that a clutch needs to be "bedded in" before using the quickshift or slipper feature of it. But, to each his own on the way they wish to "break in" their bikes.

@ Gunny, Dealer did not tell me not use the DQS, however if you think about it logically you'll understand why.

The "running in" period is for the components to bed into each other and reach dynamic harmony. Though I think, and consensus seems to be that it's only truely bedded in much later at around 8,000 km or so. During that first 1000 km/time, components wear into each other, any "rough edges"/small metal particles come off, and settle in the oil which you then change. ANy manufacturing/assembly problems also become apparent during this time. Some of us change oil several times during this period.

Which means However if you don't use your clutch because you are using the DQS , then it doesn't get a chance to wear into each other and you might only find a defect much later.

So better IMHO better to use the clutch in the run in period to find any faults and "bed it in". Then start using the DQS, not to say you can't play with it before, just make sure your clutch gets a lot of use in the run in. My 2 cents anyway.

YOUR Bike

Very well written and I appreciate your input. No one can use the DQS feature soley and would assume all use their clutch VERY often. Everyone has their "own way" and if that includes changing oil multiple times before the initial service or not using certain settings and features, the choice is ultimately yours my friend. However, these are D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y not the methods I have used with my last three Ducati's.

This is why my last sentence above stated "But, to each his own on the way they wish to "break in" their bikes."

I won't need to comment further since this was originally about the OP's delight of using the DQS feature, not "my" break in method. Just my three cents.

LOVE the DQS, almost feels like a video game or something, I use mine all the time when circumstances permit.
