After putting off my purchase for a year, I will finally be picking up my new Pani next month! Though I haven't participated in the dialogue much, I think I've read virtually every thread and truly appreciate all of the information you guys have posted. Has made me rethink my choice over and over. Going with the base model and will decide on upgrades after I've ridden it a bit.

Question - I will be transporting in the bed of my truck and won't have it set up properly by then. There doesn't seem to be a lot of tie down options/locations on the bike. Any suggestions?

I got the pit bull trailer stand bolted to a 2x10 it very secure also get some strap for the clipon and you set, not too many place to strap it in the back unless you put the passenger peg

Congrats!

I picked up a pair of handlebar straps from the Harley dealership since they were fleece lined and ended up putting foam between the grips and the straps so it wouldn't dig into the grips. Try not to have the straps at too much of an angle or it'll try to peel the grips off. On the throttle I went half a turn so it wasn't pushing against the stop. The rear I just looped around the wheel so it couldn't shift side to side. And lastly, I tightened the front down only as much as the forks compress when I'm riding it. The bike doesn't bounce all over the place when I'm sitting on it and that will give your forks enough travel without bottoming out.

+1 on pit bull. If you can't go that route then atleast a Condor or Baxley front chock will help tremendously in stabilizing the bike.

And congrats on the bike!

My plan is to mount a Condor in my truck. Just won't have it in time to get the bike. Don't think I can use a Pitbull because the rear wheel will be on the tailgate.

I use a CANYON DANCER strap in front - mounts on the handlebar and grips.

And Use a TYRE DOWN clamp at the rear which simply mounts onto your rear wheel.... no pressure on your rear suspension.

You could get a wheel chock, tie down straps one of these bed extenders/ramps here

Other than a canyon dancer and tie down straps for front and rear, not sure what else other than what has been mentioned.

I wouldn't over think it. I've been trucking my bikes around for over 15 yrs with just the Canyon Dancer and no rear straps. As long as the front is tight the bike isn't going anywhere.
Better than the Canyon Dancer, I bought the Cycle Cynch II. It doesn't pull on the grips as much.
I will only use rear straps if using a trailer. And then I often double up.

The canyon dancer stretch the grips unless you get the one with the plastic cups. I use the pit bull system as well

Rent an enclosed u-haul trailer. $20 a day. No mileage fee. Plenty of tiedowns.
