Hello!

I've been riding for 10 years, just bought my fifth bike one month ago, the 1299 Panigale S. My last bike was "˜09 R1 AKA "big bang". The Duc feels so much more agressive, pulls so much harder, looks better and feels so much lighter.

Mostly I do trackdays. The 1299 turns like nothing else I've ever ridden. I think the '15 S1000RR pulls harder in a straight line performance, but out of corners I think the Pani wins (opinions? / experiences?). The choice was between these two bikes and I still think about the Bimers top end performance, but it gradually fades away along with me getting to know the Pani....

Have similar opinion owning S1000RR before.
Pani is just the bike that I want to look at :)

I am suprised the RR pulls harder - my 1199r and 1299r make me doo doo my pants
I also mostly do track days!
Enjoy her, they are pretty to look at!

I know! I can just walk into the garage and just sit down and look at it. It ´s so damn beautifull!

But today I turned OFF the DWC and that made a huge difference.

Did you get the chance to ride the S1000RR back to back with the Pani? Was 8t the 2015 Bimer you had?

I had 2015 S1000RR for a year.Sold it and got 1299S.
Don't get me wrong BMW was a great bike but Pani has something special and unique.

seat of the pants the 1299 feels faster than the same year s1000rr.

But when i roll race my friend who has one its practically neck and neck or who gets
the jump first.

Both great bikes, they couldnt feel more different.

That's really interesting. I think I get a bit fooled by the different power delivery on the two bikes. The memory of the Bimers top end crazy pull might fooling me to belive it ´s faster. What upgrades does your friend and your bike have?

Just letting you know that I sold the Duc, bought the Bimmer, regretted as hell and now I have bought i similar 1299 S as the one I sold... I am really happy this time and will keep it for many years!

I guess nothing is perfect. But this bike is worth going throgh some pain and hazzel for. I have just spent 2000$ on my ‘16 S1000RR wich is supposed to be bullet proof. I rather spend it on the Panigale.

You think ECU flash is necessary when I got full Akra with Ducati upmap?

Italians: look good and go fast, but don’t last. However they seem to be well Upto 40k miles.

That being said, I’ve owned a number of Ducati Superbikes, and they all are great as long as properly maintained.

Why 40K? I feel like when my 1299 gets up there I’ll open my check book for whatever it needs so by the time I’m 50, it’ll still be running great with 200,000 miles on it

It’ll be like my old hockey stick that I’ve had for 20 years, sure it might have had many new shafts and new blades, but it’s still my same old stick
